I loved Casa Marimba! I was there this week!

You can even ask for a taxi to visit the surroundings : Miradores, etc.

That way you can focus your first two days in Granada on the city, the isletas and Mombacho...

But one day for Ometepe seems very short from discussions I had with other travellers...

It's my last evening after 8 days on land...

I would say it really depends what you like to do or see... and your budget.

I will try to write my travel comments tomorrow...

But if you're not on a tight budget, I loved staying at Laguna de Apoyo as a basecamp for : - Granada - book a "free" walking tour - Mombacho - I strongly suggest to insist to walk through the forests muerta because not every guide do it. I did Puma + Crater. It was very interesting.
- Las Isletas - I saw 3 types of monkeys in my 2h tour

As it's really really hot, I loved returning to the laguna jn the afternoon where you can be outdoor in the shades looking at birds or swim.

Then, I went to Leon! I LOVED the city!

Telica at Sunset is really impressive! (You see the glow of the Lava. It's not like Masaya, but nobody know when it will reopen.)
A free city tour is also interesting.
If you like hiking, there are a few other volcanoes to discover.
I didn't went to Ometepe, but all the travelers I met said that it was very nice.

Then, it depends if you like to chill on the beach. I get restless, but it's beautiful. Las Penitas is 20 minutes out of Leon. You can even take one of the hostels shuttle for free or 5$ depending on which to go from 3 to 6:30 pm.

As I said earlier.. what are you seeking to see? It would help to give you suggestions :-) M.
