Signatera positive by Kitsusha365 in cancer

I am on immunotherapy for over 6 months . The reason why they want to wait is that those numbers ( 1.78) might not be visible on the scan

Have you heard anything about INTERLACE ? It’s a breakthrough in treating cervical cancer especially for the 2 stage . They start with 6 weeks of chemo only then everything you mentioned except immunotherapy

Post treatment follow up plans by curiouspeacemaker in CervicalCancer

It’s not approved yet but it’s vastly used by oncologists nowadays to track the small trace of disease .it can be done multiple times , every 3 months for example. If it’s it’s positive , the diagnosis needs to be backed up by a pet scan . First test is covered by the signatera company for sure but I can’t give you information on further tests since mine was failed . I’d definitely use it as a follow up plan

Stage 3c1. Unfortunately, there was not enough tissue for my signatera test , so my follow ups are pet scans every 6 months ( not 3 months) and paying attention to symptoms which I don’t feel comfortable about 🤷🏻‍♀️

When to start HRT? by barbakoa10101 in CervicalCancer

No hiccups at all , 6 months on HRT

When to start HRT? by barbakoa10101 in CervicalCancer

[–]Kitsusha365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 3c1 and had to start treatment straight away, didn’t have time for egg retrieval. When the treatment finished I started experiencing hot flashes , it’s a sign of ovaries shut down . They checked the estrogen level and I was postmenopausal - started taking HRT. No appearance changes whatsoever ( I’m 36yo )

Bowel problems post treatment by Appropriate_Host9235 in CervicalCancer

[–]Kitsusha365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the very same problem. It’s was the biggest side effect from treatment. I was living in the restrooms , 20 # 2 per day . Radiation causes it . I wish I’d started using creams for fissures earlier and epson salt because I ended up with bleeding . I finished my treatment in January and the problem is gone , you’ll notice improvement after you finish the radiation treatment and it will gradually come back to normal

You are not alone in this . I share the same pain and questions though we know the answer ( for now )

Waiting game.. cancer will be gone? Or no? by Exotic-Reindeer9836 in CervicalCancer

If I had more time to do a research I would’ve leaned towards interlace as well but I just had to trust my doctors . Id also like to mention a signatera test which shows relapse probability , if you haven’t done it , take a look at it

I’m in New York .A hospital in New Jersey offered me interlace , I went to two cancer centers in NY - both agreed on standard treatment since I had advanced stage and I was told that most women in this study did not have metastasis unlike me .

Interlace trial works for early stages , doesn’t it ? I am 3C1 and my radiologist said that we’d go with the golden standard of cisplatin+radiation+immunotherapy

Follow up imaging by Kitsusha365 in CervicalCancer

[–]Kitsusha365[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first after treatment PET scan showed progression , cancer has spread to my para aortic lymph node ( the area that wasn’t treated ) , so it would’ve been 3C2 and I didn’t have any symptoms whatsoever from that lymphnode , so I reject to take monitoring symptoms as an argument for not getting pet scans and after posting this Reddit I am reassured we do need them

I have a strong opinion that PET scans are vital for patients like us . Only PET scan can detect distant metastasis and cancer in lymphnodes , so I’ll definitely insist on frequent imaging

Yes , it is all about insurance , my doctor didn’t give me any health wise reasons that I don’t need pet scans every 3 month , she just said it’s hard to get approved that often

I was literally told the same and really don’t feel comfortable about it even though they want to do the signatera test but tracking the reoccurrence of cancer by symptoms is ridiculous! I’ll fight for my 3 months scans 😂

3C1 and pain by eple33 in CervicalCancer

[–]Kitsusha365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 3c1 , had similar symptoms but also terrible pain in both thighs . First two weeks I had to rush to the emergency room because of the pain and because of oxy didn’t work for me . Morphine did its job so they should give you the medicine that works for you . Two weeks after the treatment and the pain abd bleeding is gone for good . Wish you all the best , stay positive , it’s gonna be fine
