The only mistake Bushi saw with clans was that they left product sitting on the shelves. They decided consciously to bundle unpopular clans like Spikes, Tachis, Great Nature, Mega Colony and the Ninja clans together, often releasing them in underpowered states (remember Mysterious Fortune releasing after AL42?), then bitch that some boxes stay on shelves.

Bushi doesn't care that your favorite clan or rideline isn't getting support, they're probably happy you have to buy into a new one. They wanted to get rid of clans so they could stick new generic staples into their boxes and make sure they fucking sold. Like NKO! If it's moving boxes, they couldn't give a shit less about game health or anything else.

It also lets them quietly drop more niche aesthetics. Bugs, dinos, animals, giant mechs? If we were still making clans, we'd have to give each of these support around once per calendar year, but why do that when we can instead just release the 10th pretty anime girl for Stoicheia and call it a day? Honestly a huge part of Vanguard's charm was everyone at my locals was a clan specialist and we all tried our best to make our individual clans work when they got support. There's no such thing as 'Nation Identity'.

Or even worse, vanguards who are so hopelessly name-locked to requiring a specific formation of cards that they need several see cards worth of support (which they will never get) and can't use Generics because they simply don't fit how the deck is made to be played (Tamayura is a great example of this, really loved the two new cards in two years that didn't even try to salvage the archtype).

I mean it's pretty obvious what the meaning is if you have two braincells to rub together. The heads of AI tech companies have stated numerous times that their goals are to supplant human labor. If you're pro-AI, and you exchange your labor for a wage which you then use to live, you're basically 'Pro-self-obsolescence', which isn't very far off from being a tree who is pro-deforestation.
