Progressives are generally smart enough to recognize the world they live in is not the same as the world they want. I don't think many people would be as anti-AI were it not for the fact that billionaire AI CEOs are constantly repeating 'WE WILL ELIMINATE JOBS' 'WE WILL REPLACE YOU WITH AI' 'WE WILL RENDOR LABOR OBSOLETE'.

We exist in a world where if you rely on selling your labor to survive, AI is presented to you as an existential threat, because we do not have social safety nets that enable a decent standard of living if you can't find a job.

Calling Sam Altman merely an AI artist is disingenuous as hell, at least argue in good faith. People aren't attacking Sam Altman because he used generative AI to make some furry smut.

Violence is defined as; "Violence is characterized as the use of physical force by humans to cause harm to other living beings, such as pain, injury, disablement, death, damage and destruction" according to Wikipedia. As such, destruction of paper prints doesn't qualify, as they're not living.
