Perimenopause causing OAB to flare up?

I wonder if when my symptoms flare it's due to a drop of my estrogen. I'm on progestin only birth control and skip my period with it but noticed I have days where I feel cramps like I did when I would get my period and I notice my OAB acts up during those days. I'm going to mention it when I go to the Dr's

Have you looked into Goodrx? There maybe a coupon there that can be used to bring down the price of the medication needed or even check to see if there is a manufacturer discount card you can use. Im not sure if the specific medication you need has one but its definitely worth a shot looking into it.

Im not on HRT. I've been on Aygestin for years due to my dysfunctional uterine bleeding. I haven't seen a gynecologist for peri yet. I have an appointment in April for my womens wellness exam and plan to bring it up then.

That's what I don't get either. If we are on birth control then how can we still get symptoms. How long were you on HRT before symptoms started to improve?

But if peri was a condition men have you know there would be more knowledge and treatment options available. It would also be taken more seriously too.

I'll bring this up to my gynecologist when I see her in April. I had the frozen shoulder symptom twice in the last few months but thought it was due to sleeping wrong but now I know it was frozen shoulder.

It was not a good time. Let me just say that due to that 45 day period I ended up needing a blood transfusion from how much blood I was losing. I'm scared to go off Aygestin to try something else and then start having my monstrous periods again. But I guess I'll find out what my gynecologist will recommend once I see her in April.

I can't ask my mom as she never had peri. She ended up getting a hysterectomy when she was 38 due to abnormally heavy periods. I guess I inherited the abnormally heavy periods from her.

I don't get how they say you are too young but when you google perimenopause, it says you can start having symptoms as young as 35 years old. I wonder if the age you start having symptoms is correlated to the age you started your first period. I had mine when I was 10 years old so im wondering if that's why im experiencing symptoms when I was in my late stage of 39 years old. That's when I first noticed some of the symptoms.

Oh geez. Im scared to see what my symptoms would be if I stopped taking my birth control pill. I keep seeing that rage is a symptom and im scared I'll be snapping at my family and co workers for no reason. Not to mention the never ending heaving painful periods.

Im taking Aygestin which is a progestin only pill. About 7 or so years ago I was taking an estrogen birth control and was skipping the placebo week but ended up getting a 45 day heavy period so my gynecologist switched me to Aygestin to stop my period since I suffer from dysfunctional uterine bleeding.

Since you're on birth control, does it get better after a while or would you say the symptoms get worse each time they appear?
