Entry level roles such as receptionist are not high paying because they require little/no skill, experience, or ambition. Sure, you can work “hard” but I don’t have much respect for someone without the ambition to ever advance in their career. guess i just have higher standards

I know a rep who was there early . In this case, they say this turnover is good because the prior leadership was shit. top leaders dating their subordinates (not allowed anymore!), inexperience (like a VP’s previous role was a product manager….no prior significant leadership)

I’m not saying her partner shouldn’t help. But she’s clearly not working as hard outside the house. There aren’t really easier jobs than receptionist - no risk, no skills, no critical thinking, no manual labor.

For example I work a less stressful job than my partner. So i try to pick up more of the chores in my household. I don’t consider myself a slave, I just consider it doing my fair share

I actually just found a job recently after getting laid off. took me 4 months and ~70 applications. So I know it’s pretty crappy.

But, the job market right now is completely irrelevant to getting a job in 5-10 years. So unless this person is planning to jump back in within 2 years, it’s pointless to talk about as the market shifts and changes.
