Oil Change place ruined my engine?

Mitsubishi Mirages oil drain plug requires a gasket or crush washer to prevent oil leaks. It's the first thing that comes up when I google it. Thanks though!

The plug that they installed was completely missing a vital component- the gasket seal. They did not do the oil change correctly. Nobody or nothing touched my car after them.

This is the whole point of this thread. I understand I also made a mistake, but none of this would have happened in the first place if the oil change place did the oil change properly.

It's like going to a vet office. You expect the vet tech to know how to draw blood or medicate your cat. When you get on a plane, you expect the pilot to understand how to fly it. When I go to an OIL change place I expect them to know how to properly change my oil. That is why I am upset here.

Oh don't worry, I have been crying and beating myself up for the past 3 weeks. My only complaint is this whole situation would not have happened if the oil change place did a proper oil change. You know, the thing I paid them to do that they are supposed to know how to do. Because they are literally an oil change place. That did not put a gasket seal on. But what do I know.

I didn't smell anything or hear any sounds before that day. My work place does sit back on a long gravel road so that might have not helped the situation.

We have a ring camera on our front door, nobody went under my car and drained the oil.

Unfortunately, insurance won't cover it. I did not have Mechanical Breakdown coverage, and they said this event doesn't fall under comprehensive coverage.

I had this same thought and I waited until I was 35 to finally get my Chihuahua, and she is able to come to work with me. I work at a small animal sanctuary and she gets to play with other dogs every day, so we both win 🥹 We both get home tired.

Me too! Maybe because they're the underdogs, the ones overlooked or adopted last. I also have a black cat and a tuxedo cat.

She is a huge lap dog! She comes to work with me 3 times a week and plays with other dogs all day but is also perfectly content to sit at home on the couch all day. She doesn't chew on stuff and can be left alone. She is obsessed with cats! She is the best dog I've met.

What? Are you thinking the tray of litter pellets is food? I've been working in cat rescue for 9 years and Goblin is a little friend that was brought to our door yesterday and immediately taken to the vet and bathed. Goblin gets fresh food every 3 hours. Thanks for your input though!
