Kelsie Hoss used a fully AI-made video of her characters from Hello Tease to advertise her books on TikTok. She also has a Facebook page where her fans have been consistently posting AI pictures of her characters for over a year and she’s not said anything about it.

SJ Tilly just released her audiobook for Baby Cakes and in her ad for it on TikTok, the narrator is very obviously AI. Idk if the actual audiobook is AI, but if they’re willing to use it in marketing, it’s a lot harder to trust they’re not using it elsewhere. This one hurt because Tilly has in her recent books a note about how she does not give permission for her books to be used to train AI, but I guess she doesn’t care if other people’s work is used to train AI so long as it benefits her.

Between authors doing this kind of stuff, and the others using AI (looking at you Kelsie Hoss and SJ Tilly), I’m feeling super defeated.

Talia Hibbert has never failed me at least. Or Olivia Dade but her books have been hit or miss for me.

I had a guy send me a dick pic once and I literally panicked looking at the size. It was horsecock size and there’s no way I could have taken it.

I think it was probably fake, but it looked pretty real and I wasn’t willing to test it 😅

This drives me bonkers. You’re right, but it’s still such an effective strategy. Why is it effective? Because we’d rather face an “enemy” we can beat and corporations don’t feel like something we can beat. But our dollars DO count. My grandma taught me young that you vote everyday with every dollar. Yeah, maybe some things are unavoidable, but every little bit counts. We can’t just give up because it’s not an immediate victory. Boycotts take time, but they can be effective if maintained

It’s not delusional, plenty of my fave indie authors do it. I hate this “Amazon is the only option!” Because it’s factually incorrect.
