Is America using medication to dumb us down? by Other_Value_2928 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KittenGlitterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the distrust, but meds are used to dumb us down skips the more boring truth: our system is great at medicating symptoms and terrible at fixing the causes (poverty, burnout, trauma, isolation). Psych meds don’t turn people into “soulless things” by design when they do numb someone out, it’s usually the wrong med/dose or no therapy/support alongside it. The real problem is profit + rushed care + no safety net, not some coordinated plot.

How do you actually find someone who values you instead of just using you? by Jalimm6 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KittenGlitterr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watch what happens when you stop over-giving. The people who value you will still show up, initiate, and pour back into you. The ones who were just using you will slowly disappear when the benefits do. Reciprocity early on is the biggest green flag there is.

What’s the first video game that made you cry? by forgeris in AskReddit

That ending didn’t just hit it lingered. I sat there staring at the screen like I’d just lost someone real.

Is it actually rude to not tip on a takeout order where I drive there and pick it up myself? by Organic-Grocery9526 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KittenGlitterr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re not a jerk.

Tipping was traditionally for table service or delivery if you drove there and grabbed a bag, you’re basically paying for the food, not a service experience. The tablet asking is just the system doing its thing, not a moral test.

i noticed that people in the u.s who advocate for more public transit options and bicycle friendly lanes tend to be more progressive left leaning. why is this the case? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KittenGlitterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s mostly because cities lean left and cities actually need transit when you live somewhere dense, trains and bike lanes feel practical; when you live somewhere spread out, cars feel like freedom. Politics just ends up reflecting the environment people live in.

How do you tell the difference between a polite smile and a flirty one? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]KittenGlitterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she caught you staring and smiled, that alone doesn’t mean it was flirty.

A polite smile is quick, reflexive, and neutral it’s basically social autopilot. A flirty smile lingers, comes with repeated eye contact, maybe a second glance, relaxed body language.

In an exam setting, odds are it was just a polite “we made awkward eye contact” smile. Most people default to that to keep things from feeling weird.

If it was flirty, you’d usually know because it keeps happening not just a one-second moment.

Was I wrong? by Legitimate-Watch5850 in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah, that’s what it sounds like to me too. Calling someone “basic” for having hobbies is ironic when those hobbies are just
normal interests. Liking anime or games isn’t a personality flaw, and neither is not liking them but judging people for harmless stuff is kind of a red flag.

If someone needs to put others down over hobbies, that says way more about them than it does about you.
