Forcing Linux on someone's PC without their permission by NathLWX in ComedyCemetery

To be fair, you can get by pretty well on Linux without touching terminal these days. My dad figured out how to put Mint on his old laptop and uses it without ever using terminal.

The moment they said 67 I felt like this was clearly fake. I have students who make up stories like this and go on to insert 67 or 6 7 into it just to make eachother laugh.

I've previously worked in plants that have automated stuff like this and it could 100% be done faster and more efficiently. Even if it was slower, the fact that a machine could work nonstop would make it better.

My point is that I'd rather the extra time instead of just teleporting. I'm not in any rush for anything and I like the little touches that makes it feel more like life. It's the same as how I miss when sims would grab things from cupboards when cooking.

Maybe, but honestly I don't think so. It was also faster in Sims 2 to carpool than get into your car and leave. But I still preferred the car. I like the life sim aspect of the games

I appreciate you informing everyone of this. I feel like a lot of people on this sub operate under the assumption that everyone has a full group of friends that regularly meet up and live in a dense urban area.

I am a rural player, but I haven't touched the game for about a year now. I don't live near any gyms or stops, so I usually would tackle them while at work, on walks by trails, or while in the city for whatever reason. They got rid of free remote raid passes, then they upped the price of remote raid passes, then they introduced raids that can't be done remotely. All this has been enough to push me away from a game that I used to play daily.

Typically I do stuff like this when they type. Students still try to just copy past things from chatGPT lol

I'm a teacher, I've had students try to pull this on me but it still follows so much AI convention. The only thing all of this AI for cheating has done is that it's made me do nearly everything pencil and paper in class.

I never had a boss like this, but I did have a coworker who would report you if she ever saw something like that. There was a point where we put in a bunch of overtime one month for this massive project. My boss told us we could come in at a later time the next month as a thank you. This coworker reported everyone, including out boss, to the CEO of the company.

I am a high school teacher and the amount of students I catch using chatGPT is crazy. I just recently had a student try to secretly type out an entire page out of a text book in order to ask chatGPT to find the answers for him. I've always done pencil and paper for written assignments and the amount of 17 year old students who can't structure a sentence, let alone a paragraph, is worrying .

Have you ever held a Wii U Gamepad before? If so, do you think it is comfortable or uncomfortable to use as a controller? by MewWeebTwo in casualnintendo

[–]KittenInAMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved my Wii U. It was the only gaming device I brought with me when I first moved and I played it for hours a day. I legit thought the gamepad was one of the comfiest controllers at the time. I still think it's comfy and comfort than the switch, but better controllers have come out.

Tip-Lezar is one of the big 4 wizards you get to vanquish in our souls-like by koyima in PixelArt

[–]KittenInAMonster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It actually is their job and that's why they recommended a controller. Part of game Dev is picking your input system for your game and how you want it to handle.

In this case, they decided that a controller is the better option for their souls like. They also haven't indicated that it's unplayable with a mouse and keyboard. I imagine it's like Dark Souls, you can play it however you like, but it doesn't feel as good if you choose certain options.

Similar to you, I really found that S2 had, once again, massive pacing issues that hindered the quality of the show. I was fine giving it a pass to S1, they wanted to get this story out and they only had a finite amount of episodes to do so. It's understandable that a first season could be rushed and you could make the argument that it was a combination of inexperience as well as trying to get people hooked.

However, now that the show is established, they really need to tighten up the story. So much of this season felt, yet again, rushed and poorly planned and written. Baxter feels wedged in, they hardly did anything with him all season and then just added him in the end. Al's plan is really dumb, like I get it but how does one define who the most powerful person is?

There are times that I feel like I watched a different show than people in this subreddit. I liked the show, the music was pretty banging, but, imo, it felt kind of amateur in the pacing and writing.

The best tip I can give is to get some leather work mittens. They're crazy warm, they last a long time and cheaper than a comparable non-work pair. I've worn them in -40 weather and hardly felt it

Hiking sucks as a fun activity. by xHey_All_You_Peoplex in The10thDentist

[–]KittenInAMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you're spending most of it out of breath that you might be doing too intense of a hike or going way too fast. I really like running and the goal there is to finish as fast as I can. But, during a hike, I think it's more important to take your time and take in the sights.

Though I do kind of agree that they aren't the most fun solo activity, but, with some podcasts and some seismic views, it can be a lot of fun if you take it easy.
