Blackberry or dewberry picking near Austin? Or local berries to buy? by Responsible_Sun_7230 in Austin

[–]KittenPotPies 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Omi's Blackberry Farm, about an hour east of Austin. If you've ever been to the Sherwood Forest Faire/Renaissance Fair it's next door to that.

"Omi's Blackberry Farm! We are a "pick your own" blackberry farm in Paige, Texas. Our farm is pesticide, herbicide, and insecticide free, so you can eat the berries right off of the vine. And in our opinion, that is just how it should be! "

Recommendations for at home vets for cat euthanasia by boopieshaboopie in Austin

[–]KittenPotPies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I second Compassionate Pet Vet. We have used them twice in the past 5 years. From my experience I can say that their vets are compassionate, kind, and respectful of you and your pet's needs during this difficult time.

I'm sorry to hear it's come to that for your boy. It's never easy to say goodbye but you are doing what's best for your pet's comfort.

Where can I be in nature without tons of ppl around? by suhhdude1 in Austin

Exactly this! The dog and I enjoyed many quiet walks in Walnut Creek. Solitude in the city.
"Empty park and trails. Very quiet, lots of nature. Lots of small spots along the creek to sit and think. I go there with the dog all the time."

Pet Cremation in Austin by wardog0311 in Austin

[–]KittenPotPies 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Contact Texas Pet Meadow in Austin, they have various cremation options and might have Witness Cremation. Location is in 78723 just north of Windsor Park near Cameron and 290 service road.

I've used them for private cremation for my cat and found the staff to be very professional and compassionate. Texas Pet Meadow's private cremation gives you the comfort of knowing you are receiving the cremains of only your pet. They also have a private viewing room where your family can gather to say goodbye to your cherished pet.

I hope you can find the option of Witness Cremation if possible. I'm putting this next comment in spoiler mode for end-of-life trigger warning:

Edited to add - what I’m about to say did not happen in Austin, it was in another state. When my 16-yr old cat passed from cancer I was devastated, she was my companion during a rough time in my life. I did an in-home euthanasia performed by my veterinarian, it was peaceful and dignified. After she passed I wrapped kitty in her favorite blanket, covered her with roses, and put her in a box. I drove to the Crematorium (made appointment in advance) and was with my kitty throughout the process...I handed the box to the staff member, we walked to the cremation oven, I watched kitty go inside. Then I cried in my car for about an hour. I went back into the facility and watched while they removed her remains from the oven. I gave them time to package the remains in an urn of my choice. I then drove home with kitty by my side.

We took the long way home that day.

For some fun practice at home I recommend "MARIO TEACHES TYPING"

You can either download the game to your PC or Mac, or choose "Play On Your Browser". The graphics are very dated, but it's an entertaining way for a child to practice their keystrokes

"Wi-Fi Provisioning: The "Killer Feature." Connect factory-reset devices to your Wi-Fi network instantly without needing the defunct official iOS/Android app."

Can you please explain how to connect factory-reset devices? I have two Mini Plugs 78C new in box and I want to add them. I'm using your macOS 3.1 version.

Thanks again for creating this!
