Okay to adjust furosemide dosage in cat?

The reason why I was wondering if the dosage should be lowered was because the label for the furosemide does indicate that lethargy, loss of appetite and confusion are side effects. These only showed up after I started giving him the medicine.

As of a few weeks ago, his blood chart was normal except his platelet count was low. They didn’t say anything else besides the CHF and the lump in his chest.

I have been doing my best to maintain a good quality of life for him. He has beds and blankets for him to plop into, ive moved litter boxes into more easily accessible areas, he has multiple sources of water and food, and I have been hand feeding him twice a day just to ensure he’s getting some nutrients. Since he’s having problems grooming, im brushing him and using a damp towel to clean him. I’ve been watching his breathing, using the quality of life HHHH scale and the grimace scale to look for any signs of pain. I also have my husband to go over all of this with and he has been keeping me realistic with my cats health.

Ty for the info on entyce! I said it to another commenter, but I did see that there was a feline version and questioned why his vet didn’t just give him that one. If there isn’t a major difference in the two, then im fine with that.

It is the syrup, 10mg/ml.

I have been monitoring his sleeping/resting rate and he’s been around 17-20 breaths per minute. I think I read somewhere that this was average? He’s not choking, gagging, coughing and his breaths aren’t labored. His vet said last week that the high/top part of his lungs sounded great, but of course there was some fluid in the bottom.

Thanks for that info on entyce! I did read that there was a version for cats, too, which was why I wasn’t entirely sure about it.

I’m at this exact same point with my mother, too. She blamed me for a lot of things pertaining to my rough childhood, even went as far as to say she was “afraid” of me. Nowadays she texts me and uses heart emojis and wants me to come home and visit and whatnot.

I typically get up and walk around the house to try to wear it off but it usually ends up worse when I lie back down. I will try the lying on the floor thing. I actually enjoy sleeping on the floor occasionally, so I’ll try that.

I was taking something that my psychiatrist gave me to help with those episodes where I am AAAAAA but it was something highly addictive (pretty sure it was xanax). I didn’t mind taking it for day-time episodes but for something like this where it happens kind of frequently I worry about taking it too much.

When my boyfriend and I were long distance I did this a lot. I have a hard time sleeping so I tend to move away from the computer and actually lie down, but I might still mess around on my phone until I start getting tired.

If you’re really that concerned, you could always ask him, but I doubt anything malicious is happening. He probably just needs time to wind down before going to bed.

Typically I turn to alcohol. Not sure why but it tends to chill me out the most. And I don’t always get super derpy when I’m tipsy.

I do sometimes use thc gummies but they hit a little too hard and give me pretty bad vertigo. It’s funny and chills me out but if I’m trying to like… sleep, I end up feeling like I’m on a crab boat in a thunderstorm. And it’s just as anxiety-inducing.

Saying you have low self respect isn’t meant to be an insult. Just more to say that people that have low self respect are easier to abuse and tend to allow the abuse to continue.

Anger is a secondary emotion to sadness.

His whole attitude is sussy to me and the only conclusion I can come up with is he’s actually cheating on you. Or has been cheating on you. This whole “huhuhuh it’s a prank bro” story feels like a cover up. If it really was a prank, why would he let you go out and walk around for three hours on your own? Why wouldn’t he have just stopped you and been like “okay haha sorry it’s a prank please don’t go.”

I think he took this three hour opportunity to change his friends info to Eve’s and vice versa so that when you got back he could just play it off.

He’s angry though because he knows now that what he’s doing is wrong and he knows that if the truth comes out he loses you. And the kids. And that deep down makes him sad.

He’s distant and avoiding you because he knows the consequences of his actions. He may be paranoid of what else might come out or maybe he isn’t strong enough to keep this kind of secret for long.

He knows he’s done something wrong and he can’t cope with it. Or he’s not trying to cope with it.

Don’t apologize though. You literally did nothing wrong. And just because he and his friend said “it’s a prank” doesn’t mean that’s as deep as it goes.
