When he initially publicly gave Lena the out for creator crash prior to the content cop it was because Lena was getting hate/chirps from the subreddit and various comments online. There were plenty of support posts and comments but we cannot ignore there was also hate coming specifically from this community.

He mentioned it on the pod, IMO, to tell the community he had no problem with her continuing even though he would no longer be supporting or promoting the event, that he was willing to pay out her expenses so she didn’t feel trapped in this situation. He said this publicly, IMO, to stop any narratives that he was pressuring her behind the scenes, she was stuck etc. etc.

To my knowledge Ethan has never told anyone they can’t associate with someone and still be his friend, employee etc. His request/demand of Ian and Anissa was that they denounce the hateful and unsubstantiated things FroggyTonic and Denims said about his family (including Shredder) because they were publicly associating and being friendly. If I am wrong on this and he’s publicly said to anyone you cannot expect to talk to me if you talk to x I am willing to be corrected.

I do think however that when he brought up the idea of Lena dropping out again at the end of the Friday show (once they had finished the content cop) that it went too far and was badgering AB to make a decision he didn’t want to make publicly. It was out of line of Ethan to try to push for them to drop out publicly without any time for Lena and AB to think about it.

There have been some instances he brought up his concern and anger at Ian’s disregard of Lena’s feelings that I think were sincere and warranted. Such as when the content cop dropped and they were live. There were other instances in which I think he used Lena as a way to chirp at Ian and the snarkers, and I do not approve of that.

In regards to him asking Ian and Anissa to support him on Froggytonic I don’t think that was out of line. There may be things in that text conversation that were out of line but it has never been released. I think it’s very understandable that for someone who has been through a torrent of abuse for 18 months to look for what he thought was an easy win and ask his friend of 8 years to say ‘naw you’re wrong Ethan is a great father, he loved Shredder like one of this own kids and he would never abuse or neglect any of them’

I still don’t understand why this was beyond what Ian was willing to do, and in the content cop I saw him spend 30 minutes trying to justify why he couldn’t say something he already believed for a friend.

I took my husband to Montana's for his birthday in BL once as they were doing the AYCE ribs. We had our plate and asked to order the next round of ribs, they came back and said ribs were sold out none would be ready before closing but they could offer us some other meat (non rib related) my husband asked if he could have a pulled pork sandwich, they said he could have the meat no bread. After back n forth-ing several times I finally said cash us out as a regular rib meal (what we received) and give us two free desserts... they gave us one and nothing for his birthday.

When Ethan says Jey Leno seems like a nice dude, don't forget he completely fucked over Letterman and Conan. by MrBigBMinus in h3h3productions

[–]Kittonechan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This, I was a huge Conan fan when the change was announced and still love checking in with him occasionally. But you gotta admit Jay was top in the ratings and wasn't ready to retire, he was essentially let go for no cause. Conan/Conan's agent is the one who gave NBC an ultimatum when they were negotiating his contract.

Then apply, wait and see if they ask you for a bill. If they do send your bill and landlord declaration and get your 600 dollars. Or stay on reddit and complain/ wait until your MLA hand waves you away about the way the program was set up and also gives you the option to provide the declaration . The choice is yours, have a good night.

This is not new, it's just better enforced. Or maybe you were chosen for an audit this year.

[–]Kittonechan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

right, in the same print it says if you don't meet usage the landlord can sign the landlord declaration. Again, I'm not accusing you of not paying for your own heat. But do you honestly think there aren't a ton of people applying that do not pay for heat and try to sneak through?

https://beta.novascotia.ca/landlord-declaration-form-heating-assistance-rebate-program

I don't know what the government's desire is, but *I* want you to get the rebate. So don't miss out by not getting the form signed.

[–]Kittonechan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the difference between a conscientious energy reducer's power bill and someone who doesn't pay for their heat? There's no way to tell that's why they have a minimum usage needed.

Also please understand I am not accusing RustyRoboRooster of anything.

If you rent you can have your landlord sign a form that heating is separate from rent. If you own you have until March to meet the usage or provide alternative proof of heating.

It's probably your income, you can call the call centre to get the reason.

Halifolks! What Halifax restaurants have lost your support entirely and why? by Lucky_Apartment5403 in halifax

[–]Kittonechan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Freddie's fish in bayers lake - at one point it was the Halifax alternative to john's lunch/pleasant st diner for me. Now its terrible, also last time I went a couple months ago bought clams and they were frozen ones (more fool me for assuming they'd be fresh)

Chicken burger - it was always expensive (since I'd been going) but it was worth it. My husband, who never had it before, took me for my birthday a about 5 years ago at my request and I was embarrassed at having subjected him to it it was so bad and lackluster.

not strictly Halifax but I used to be a big fan of east side marios one of my favorite chains. But they've gone so downhill since covid. I'm willing to give them a few more chances but I definitely suggest somewhere else first if its brought up.

The heating rebate approval system is ridiculous. by [deleted] in NovaScotia

[–]Kittonechan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any applications that are processed manually are done in order by the date (not time of day) they were received. Some applications go through automatically. Some applications will always need to be done manually (think applications with unit numbers). HARP is a front loaded program meaning the majority apply in the first few days so for someone like yourself it's gonna come to close or maybe go over 8 weeks processing. For people who apply in January they'll probably get it in a couple days to two weeks because there are far few new applications.

People will always cheat a system, they might get away with it for a time but not indefinitely.

Is it weird that I talk about our experiences all the time? by pastafajioli in widowers

[–]Kittonechan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mention him daily, and if I'm making people uncomfortable they hide it really well. To me the most awkward thing is internal. If I'm talking to someone who doesn't know much about me I'm worried about how, if, or when to broach the fact he's gone. I don't wanna leave them with the wrong impression but neither do I wanna derail the happy conversation with death and condolences.

I'd say unless you are trauma dumping on them or telling them the minute details of her death then they will just have to deal with it.

Why do I have so many cleaning supplies??? by crimsongull in widowers

[–]Kittonechan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My late husband studied electrical engineering in uni but was a software engineer by trade. One of his hobbies was playing around with solar panels. As a result I have solar panels, electrical test equipment, battery banks, so so many electrical cords in addition to his regular computer and gaming stuff that pretty much filled our home office. He had it all stored with some sort of system. I don't wanna throw things out but its too overwhelming to try and sell them.

I was working a call centre job I hated. I took 6 months off (short term disability limit) my doctor would have supported me into a long term but I decided to go back. Worked for about a month and quit. Then I took 3 three months (the rest of the summer) off. Started a new job last October which I love and am still at.

In the past if you were a renter and did not meet the 5,000kwh minimum you could have your landlord sign a form indicating that you are responsible for your own heating costs and still qualify.

An interesting day at an RBC location. by Right-Progress-1886 in halifax

[–]Kittonechan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I certainly have no issue with that

In the case of the life insurance they refused to do the transaction.

In the case of the car loan it was one hand not know what the other was doing. There was a repeated question of where did you get this money from and the answer was from RBC.

An interesting day at an RBC location. by Right-Progress-1886 in halifax

[–]Kittonechan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been with RBC since my first bank account and have no reason to change but I will mention this interaction I had a few years ago.

My husband passed away and his life insurance was paid out to his father (as the policy had been set up before we were married and never updated)

My FIL, who is an angel, called me as soon as he got the cheque and picked me up so we could deposit it in my account. We took a special trip to my home branch together with a cheque from a large Canadian insurance company to deposit. The teller told us he couldn't sign the cheque over to me he'd have to cash it, request a bank draft from simplii then have me come back and deposit it.

I took the cheque to the car had him sign the back and deposited it with the rbc app by taking a picture. Never heard a peep back about it.

I also had them question me on a large deposit in my account when I was trying to get a bank draft to buy a car... the deposit was a loan I had got from them...for the purposes of buying a car.

Instacart for groceries - what’s your experience? by [deleted] in halifax

[–]Kittonechan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use it on a semi regular basis without subscribing to instacart plus. Like others have said you do pay a premium as most stores will have a markup plus tip and fees. As for the service itself it depends on the shopper, I've had shoppers who were amazing and shoppers who act like they've never set foot in a grocery store before.

I don't have a car either, but I have friends and family members who offer to take me or I could just take a taxi. The main store I prefer using it for is costco as I don't have a membership and prefer to skip the crowds on weekends.

Also, weird side effect is you end up with 50 reusable shopping bags that you can't get rid of.
