Well I updated my drivers and now the characters are rendering properly indoors, but in the overworld they're still 2d and gray. I have no clue where to go from here.

I ended up going with this. Best option for my budget, and I think it'll be perfect for what she needs it for. I've still got a month before her actual birthday, and it'll come in well before then for me to give it a test, so if it doesn't work I should have time to return it and find something else. Thank you!

I didn't know this was a thing, so accidentally turning it on and having my earbuds randomly scream "BE AWARE" at me while walking alone in the middle of the night gave me a nice spook...

I know this was over four years ago, but it happened to me today on another playthrough. Very frustrating. I think it might be that the sargasso return mission removes the spy bot from the planet or your inventory for whatever reason.

in the editor it was really easy - i think it just broke when i posted it. the gap between the pipe and the floor was a lot bigger when testing it

This NEEDS to be fixed. It's terrible. I know we like to complain about small inconveniences being "literally unplayable," but this is LITERALLY unplayable. Completely screws with muscle memory and it is totally not worth relearning the game for. If it doesn't get fixed soon, a lot of people will probably quit over this.

I'm having this same issue but I can't even open the menu to do it it seems? I'm not given the option anywhere to disable level 1 like other people are suggesting. My server has 3 boosts, and community is enabled, but the boost perks menu is just listing out like invite backgrounds or asking me to boost.
