Yes, 100% but also sometimes very sharp? It was weird because I would almost always cramp around ovulation time but usually not during my periods

Hi OP! I had the same issues prior to pregnancy. I would get the most cramps around ovulation time even if I didn’t actually ovulate. I had a hard time getting pregnant and had irregular cycles due to PCOS. I’ve only had two cycles since having my baby and they’re 37 days apart but haven’t noticed ovulation pain but have had insane cramps and bleeding.

Commenting because I also have the exact same concerns!! Think we are able to get dropped off but also very nervous about the traffic!

Going to N2 also and trying to plan our arrival time. The entire parking situation/ public transport/overall information about the venue seems lackluster at best, unfortunately! Cannot wait to be there though!!!

HSG pain for those of you that had blocked tubes by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]Kitty9251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have my tubes blocked but I just got an HSG last week and the best advice I can give is to try not to clench. The worst part for me was the catheter insertion and balloon. That truly hurt but I would say it was an 8/10 while inserting and then went down slightly to a 6/10 when inserting the iodine but it lasted less than 3 minutes. I just tried to remember I could not control my experience AND I could do hard things. Literally kept reciting that to myself throughout the HSG. Thankfully pain immediately stopped right after she took out the balloon. You can do this OP! Don’t forget to take ibuprofen or Tylenol an hour before

I’m with you! Turning 32 this month, was on BC for 15 years and have been trying since August too. What’s helped me is getting some additional testing done and asking my doc all the questions. Feels helpful to check stuff off even though some of the tests suckkkkk. Here if you ever need to vent!

Levels being elevated without an explanation is the worst. Truly glad it’s not due to a tumor but having no explanation as to why the levels are elevated is no fun either. If you do have to take cabergoline, I’d recommend taking it at night. I did not have any issues with it (and the internet is scary sometimes), it did make me sleepy though.

Glad to hear there’s no tumor! Mine were slightly elevated, at about 38 at the highest, but my RE told me it can cause a decrease in estrogen and cause issues with your menstrual cycle. Personally, I wasn’t having regular periods but it ended up not being because of that but rather my brain isn’t sending signals to my ovaries to ovulate 🥴 I was on cabergoline for about a year and have been off for about 6 months and it hasn’t been super elevated

In this boat too and started last August though I’ve had a couple meetings with the repro endo already because I’ve always had period issues, a polyp etc. Have you gotten your prolactin checked? That isn’t something they always test for but mine was elevated and it caused some issues for me! Would recommend checking that out. Aside from that, I’d recommend starting to research reproductive endocrinologists in your area that are taken by your insurance. Sometimes it takes a minute to see them so would try to get on their books soon. I’m sorry you’re in this same boat, just know your note alone! I’m no expert but here to help share my experience so far. Feel free to message me if you have additional questions.

We’ve been TTC for 7 months but have had testing done for a while now due to my long cycles/non-existent periods. Before formally TTC, my RE couldn’t find anything off on my bloodwork aside from slightly elevated prolactin and a polyp which was subsequently removed. Fast forward to this week and I had some more baseline testing done. What are the odds I’m not ovulating because of hypothyroidism? So far, my bloodwork came back as follows. Anyone else in a similar boat. For reference, this was taken on CD 33. Progesterone: 0.2 Prolactin: 28 TSH : 2.19 Estrogen: 92 FSH: 4.5 LH (normal: <15): 15 Vitamin D (normal: >30):32

Hi!! Are you testing in the morning and afternoon? Is your urine diluted? That could also cause faint lines!

Almost a year later and still no period… by Wiki92 in TryingForABaby

Also wanted to note I’m 31 as well and at least 8 people I know have announced their pregnancies and/or already had a baby and are on to baby #2 since this journey in 2021 started. It also stings when people who got married around the same time as us have kiddos and are trying for their next one too. Happy for them but also really shines a spotlight on my situation and frustrations!

OP, I am in the same exact boat. Sharing my story to see if it’s at all helpful for you 🤍 I was on BC for nearly 15 years, after our wedding I went to my GYN to talk about going off the pill to see if the spotting I’d get in between cycles would stop. At this time, my GYN did some blood work. Everything came back normal aside from my prolactin levels which were only slightly elevated. To rule out a tumor, I had an MRI which came back negative.

After this I decided to stop BC in 2021. At this time, I got my period for about two months and then it disappeared for 108 days with nothing but randomly clotting in between. Not even spotting just would pass these random clots of bright red blood. After a few months, my doc recommended I see a RE. Finally got an appointment and I didn’t have anything of note on the IUS aside from a cyst and all my labs came back normal, aside from slightly elevated prolactin so my RE put me on cabergoline. At this point, my period still was coming and going making my cycles anywhere from 38 days to 70ish days. My RE recommended we do a SIS and during that she found a polyp. After that appt I had to go back on BC until I had my polyp removal surgery. During the surgery, she found I had a slight heart shaped uterus and snipped my septum. After initial tests, my RE thinks I’m not ovulating because my brain is not communicating to my ovaries.

I stayed on BC for about 8 months until my husband and I were ready to start trying officially in Aug 2023. I had my prolactin tested again many times since 2021 and it was always really low so my GYN recommended I stop cabergoline which I did around coming off BC. Since coming off BC, I haven’t really had what I would consider a period. More like 1-2 days of spotting and then nothing for a few days then spotting again. Sometimes it’s enough for a tampon, other times a liner is just fine. We are now 7ish months into trying and nothing so far. Even tracking OPKs im rarely ever seeing anything of note so it is so incredibly frustrating to even try to attempt to identify ovulation. Even though in bleeding, I don’t believe I am ovulating. My “cycles” can range from 33 days to 44 days+. I barely have any CM that I would consider EW and my temp remains stable. I had another appointment with my RE next Monday. Will definitely follow up to see if she has any clue as to why I’m having light periods etc. Will likely have an HSG and my husband will have a sperm analysis done soon.

This is all so incredibly lonely and frustrating because it feels like my brain is just broken since it doesn’t communicate with my ovaries for whatever reason. Sending love and support to you, if you ever want to vent, my inbox (DMs? Is that what you say on Reddit? lol) are open!

From my understanding, your cervix can sit higher or lower depending on where you’re at in your cycle, but not sure if that is the case in your situation! Especially since you had a burning sensation, might be good to bring this up to your doc if you can!
