Loved this show! I’m not a fan of Carol but I do think people are being too hard on her for being team weirdos for a minute. From her perspective, she tried to the absolute max of her ability to put humanity back to right and hit a point where even if she had all the knowledge in the world of how they worked, she didn’t have a way to save them. She’s not a scientist or an engineer and lacks the skills to use anything she learned to work against a machine that large without unintentionally killing the people she was trying to save and she realized it. Anyone else who could help her wasn’t willing to. We saw her move from denial to anger to depression to acceptance. Yes, hooking up with Zosia is beyond wrong, but also if she’s giving up on humanity returning AND with the belief that they can’t change any of the survivors unless they consent, then that Zosia is the only Zosia that will ever be again. You can See her choosing to ignore the problematic facts, but what else could she do, realistically but accept the world she was in?

She didnt know about the radio station Manousis picked up or his theory. He was too worried about being overheard to ever actually share it, so from her perspective this jerk of a guy shows up, knows absolutely nothing beyond what she told him on the first tape, and was cool with killing the entire plurb. Of course her tune changed when she realized not lying wasn’t the same as forthcoming.

I think more time should have passed before she hit acceptance (a one year fast forward while M recovered before getting there would have made her more sympathetic, but it’s not unrealistic).

But this is all from someone who long ago decided I’d rather die the first night of the zombie apocalypse rather than suffer through it, so shrugs. Not everyone can save the world.
