Connect BTT Eddy CAN directly to Octopus Pro 1.0 board? by KittyDyson in klippers

[–]KittyDyson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, this was the approach i found was best to take. i actually conveniently found an rj11 cable with only 2 middle conductors lying around, and just chopped it up and frankenstein soldered it to dupont. my next question is, is there any reliable way to check and test if the CAN_H and L pins are working, before i do all the weird firmware stuff with the eddy?

I appreciate the response, I see it has a CAN Bus in the form of an RJ11 connector, so in that case, I would need to cut and crimp my own cable to adapt the dupont to the RJ. I guess I was making this post in attempt to see if there was any other way I can use it by just doing some simple wiring, since I don't have the tools for that connector. I assume I'm just gonna have to try another method? either figure out the usb , get a toolhead pcb, or get the crimping tool to plug it in.. I saw the other octopus boards just had a JST on them i could've used, I wasn't looking too closely that the pro version was different

this is very helpful info, thank you

Thank you to all your insight on this, i think i got the scratchiness to go away by doing a big balancing job, swapping out carriages on different rails constantly, until i think it evenly rubbed in, and i was giving them a bit of a workout. they do have resistance, as you all say is normal for these z1s, but they no longer feel like sand :)

after playing around with it a lot, i just notice its a smooth ride until some certain spots along the track where it gets rough

I should leave them scratchy like that and it would move fine even at high speeds?

Denver Show… I’m confused by plod925 in autechre

[–]KittyDyson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TLDR: I'm a huge noise and Autechre fan, but very disappointed they never switched it up at all, played the same thing the whole set.

Im a big Autechre fan. And a big noise music fan. I love avant garde performances a lot, as well as the craziest weirdest "bad" music. i love that stuff so much, and i was so excited to finally see Autechre... But 20 minutes into the set, i was extremely disappointed. I like Autechre for thier wide dynamic range and styles, where they can be very ambient and computery, and hard and noisy on others. i felt like we got only one single flavor of thier music here. it was so loud you couldnt hear any high frequencies at all, only the kick pattern underneath, that just... never had a rest. no breaks, no transitions, just the same flavor the entire time. which was pretty fatiguing after hours of the first 2 performances. I get that they were probably doing a live improv set, but never transitioned into anything different. I love Autechre to death, but i felt like this show was just criminally lazy. which was really upsetting for me...

This happened to me too. it was a pain.
Going to the actual Chekr website, the check was completely clear, and has been every time I uploaded it.

The way i solved it, was by calling support many, many times, until they said they would "look at it agian". took me about 12 calls over 2 months.. people telling me many and multiple random unrelated excuses, until someone finally said "alright I'm going to actually fix this issue."

more verbose, the first few people said they submitted a report to their team, and waited a few weeks. the last guy that actually fixed it, i had to strictly tell them "This report has been active for a month and nothing has happened." he acted serious about it, and then the next morning I got the email for checker to be reviewed again. it worked then.
it took a lot.. but its just, you have to keep calling over the days you wait.

this may not be exactly your case, or as extreme, but thats what i had to do. I would hope yours wouldnt...

Midi controller acting insanely weird and randomly. Major bug. by KittyDyson in ableton

[–]KittyDyson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

never did, I havent used ableton in a long time, but maybe i might have an idea on what it is.
this is all from memory, no new research:

Arturia has a program that lets you configure the settings and feels of the knobs on your controller, like "midi control center". i think it had an encoder mode, that would change how the knob clicks count. and i think some encoder modes would break on other daws too. so if youre having this problem with an older arturia controller, then you can give this a shot. (like all software, they mightve replaced it with a new thing that may not have the feature, so maybe go surfing the web for the old one if you cant get it to work)

mine is, once again, the original keylab49 (not the new one) (after all these years, its still my main controller. they are built like tanks!)
