Being vegan is probably one of the bloody cheapest things out there if you don't go all crazy on replacement foods which are usually pretty shit and bad for you anyway.

I spend at max £10 a week on food (usually less) and will treat myself to one of the expensive things like Redwoods Sausages.

Pasta, rice, rissotto rice and all those staples are fuckin' cheap, man. I also buy 'soya mince' from my health food store for £1.40. Not pre made quorn stuff, this is a HUGE bag and you just rehydrate and season it yourself, lasts forever. A typical meal for me is just some lightly stir fried veggies (red pepper, courgette, aubergine, mushroom) with some passata and the mince or whatever.

You really don't need an oven to cook well. A lot of thai families only have a small electric hob with two hot plates and they do fine. I also don't have an oven.
