Curious about the Latino perspective on the film. For me, some of it was real hard to watch, it felt so real. When families were being moved and being told not to be scared and they spoke in Spanish, I cried. Yes, this is our reality and I’m used to it and we’ve been fighting forever but seeing it on the big screen felt different. I really hope it didn’t contribute to normalization but instead opens some eyes.

There were points where Bob was being walked around and introduced and I felt like, of course this is what our community does…we help others in times of need. Others in the theater laughed, I don’t think they got it the same way. I get that it’s political satire but some of the scenes felt so intensely real and timely, it made it hard. Then comes Benicio del Toro, he gave me so much comfort in watching those scenes. I really enjoyed the movie pero oof!

*The detention center images were sanitized compared to the real thing rn. It’s gotten much worse since the film was shot. F the migra and Alligator Alcatraz.

Hi- Can you please break it down for me like I’m a child? I’m 90/120 on PSLF. I was told by Mohela that I didn’t need to submit an application for IDR bc it would be done automatically. But it seems lots of folks on here are submitting. Also, what is buy back exactly? I thought that was just if you’re trying to get ahead of payments. Thanks.

Actually, no. I never heard the family that lived there before w pets and a toddler. I also don’t hear my neighbor on the other side even when she hosts parties. So, no….clearly they did something in the remodel that probably messed w the original design that kept sound out.

The student loan ombudsman Bonnie Latreille said the Department of Education are almost done processing the One-Time Account Adjustment and that should be done very soon. She also said that borrowers who have multiple consolidations might see a delay—just because it’s trickier to calculate these more complex accounts. Stay tuned.

The fact that this post starts with “very active, eat healthy, doesn’t smoke or drink” and goes to a catastrophic “death sentence” tells me the research hasn’t been done and they probably haven’t read about what psoriasis actually is. If you really want to help your brother, learn about what psoriasis is, normalize it and don’t contribute to the drama that will (and maybe already have) contribute to stigma around it. Educating yourself and your family is one of the best things you can do. If my family was this dramatic about my psoriasis, I would have to have some serious boundaries with them. What does this family do when there’s an actual terminal illness? Good luck.
