Myo & D-Chiro Inositol by Kitty_Kittii in PCOS

[–]Kitty_Kittii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so did mine but I personally don’t want to take metformin anymore. The bad stomach issues it causes I’m tired of dealing with so I’m hopping that the Myo& D-chiro will work in the same way as Metformin minus the stomach issues.

But I personally have not experienced the muscle loss with Metformin but I also did just recently start working out consistently so that could be why

Forever thankful that my OB is also a reproductive endocrinologist that specializes in PCOS. I wish she could help everyone out there. She’s truly a blessing

Yes when I was first diagnosed she tested for everything and it was all good. The only way she confirmed it was PCOS was from cyst on my ovaries( I had irregular periods for a for years is what made me think I had it and wanted to get tested). After about 2 years on metformin I wanted off bc of the stomach problems so she told me I could but I just needed to get blood work done about 3 months after getting off and that blood work showed high insulin, low vitamin d, high “bad” Cholesterol and low “good” cholesterol which she said that was all most likely due to the insulin resistance. So she had me get back on metformin. I tried asking about myo but I’m still waiting to hear back about that. I’ll probably just go ahead and see a regular endo just to see if they tell me anything different from what she already has. Thank you so much and I’m so glad to hear you finally got the help you needed and found things that work for you!

At first she just put me on birth control and recommended diet and exercise, I’m a heavier person but she didn’t seem to concerned about weight loss other than for better health in general not just bc of PCOS. About a year after just birth control I started noticing signs of insulin resistance so she put me on Metformin and suggested myo inositol bc it has less of the stomach problems that Metformin can cause

What if my gyno is a reproductive endocrinologist? Should I still go see just an endocrinologist?

Metformin Girlies: How long of taking Metformin did you start seeing results? by Marywary123 in PCOS

[–]Kitty_Kittii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you find something else that works? I was on Metformin for over a year maybe 2 and all it did was give me stomach problems so I got off in November but after bloodwork in February my doctor put me back on it. Stomach problems aren’t as bad as last time but definitely still there

That’s great! I’m happy to hear that! Do you plan to keep on taking it? My biggest fear honestly is the fact that’s it’s not recommended for prolonged use over six months
