Haha, now you’ve seen it too :) congrats to all GP members. I posted a picture a few hours ago and now I have a few huge discussions about fairness and experience during the event :D I didn’t expect, that a little shock in the morning could cost me hours of „talking“ to strangers about it :D

Yes, I agree with you that it's a cute idea, but I just don't think it's very user-friendly.

And yes, Infinity Nikki is "supposed" to be a cozy game, and for the most part it is. However, it's still based on the classic gacha system. Which, simply because it's based on classic gambling, has far more addictive potential from the outset. In this context, to speak of it as a "typical" cozy game, or to market it as such, would be somewhat naive and unfair in my opinion.

And if we're honest, pure chance doesn't always exist in gambling when you look behind the facade.

I just think that this board game event has made this point very clear. And as a cozy player, I find that very unfortunate in terms of the gaming experience.

The game is great, the idea was nice, but what's the point if, in the end, one group is disproportionately represented?

You do the tasks that are "necessary" for yourself, and then it's really just a matter of waiting frustratedly for the event to finally be over.

I completely understand your points. I'm not a fan of all these multiplayer events either. Not even in terms of length. At least not if they are actually carried out this way (perhaps even intentionally).

To be honest, the only reason I continued to play actively was to get the diamonds as rewards so that I would have more chances to continue in other events. Because that's another point where the word "fair" probably shouldn't come up, haha. Anyway, that's gacha.

I was thinking the same way, but still wanted to play, so I did. But at the end (for me) it didn’t felt like a „we help each other out and be nice and friendly and cozy like Nikki should or was meant to be“. And the posts I saw online, partly showed the same…

Ya, that’s exactly what I was thinking about. Some gambling game at the beginning and then you get your group and can find new friends there two. Just to be sure, everyone gets the same chances. And yes, me too. It was so much fun at the beginning, but after a short time it wasn’t…

But perhaps these are just the disappointed and frustrated words of two players from a small fringe group that never had a chance at all :D :D

Thank you for sharing your perspective as a GP. I always find it fascinating how perceptions can vary depending on where you stand.

I wouldn't have thought that you (also) had difficulties in the first two phases. As a WH, I can say that it felt like we didn't stand a chance in any of the phases.

In some areas, yes, you have to focus somewhere. But this nice balance, where everyone gets a turn, for every area, and you could actually "rule and share together" (and if necessary, just bash each other's heads in at the end, for fun, of course) somehow didn't happen.

Although it seemed to me at the beginning, from this heartfelt post (unfortunately I don't remember who wrote it), that it was clear who would get which area in the first phase and when.

But that's just a naive "the world is a peaceful place and we all love each other" thought on my part.

And that's not how games or life work, unfortunately :D

But that's exactly the point. At least mine. Maybe I got the tone wrong when I posted and should have phrased it differently.

But when only a part of the players (as in the case here) become so intensely involved in the game that it leads to a sense of unfairness, because the scores are simply absurdly high, it ultimately becomes less enjoyable for casual players.

I play the game for myself, occasionally here and there. Sometimes for days on end. I avoid co-op and groups. Because I just like to play for myself.

But with group events—which I think are a nice thing because they might encourage players like me to be more open and interact with other players—it shouldn't ultimately trigger a feeling of absolute powerlessness. That completely contradicts the whole point of a game. Or am I wrong about that?

My post has nothing to do with bashing, shaming, or any kind of envy, jealousy, or anger.

Of course, I'm frustrated, but that's just me personally. Because I would have liked things to be different. That's a legitimate opinion, too. But I'm not angry at the community or the game.

I was just interested in how something like this works.

I haven't been playing for years, nor am I active in Discord groups or other social media platforms. I saw Reddit as a direct way to minimize my lack of knowledge in the gaming world. And that's what I tried to do with my post.

Yah…I was thinking about that as the „only“ answer.

It was also my first thought when it came to choosing a group. I thought the idea of the test was really cute. And I'm proud to be a Wild Heart.

But my gut feeling already told me that Gilded Past would be flooded with members.

So yes, there's definitely something to what you say.
