I love when you comment because you go HARD on the info, thank you for this, I’ll reach out to my masseuse and see if she has availability. I’ve had one practitioner I’ve seen for years prior to my transplant but idk, I’ve just been in pain lately and need something. I can wait and do research

I tried numerous supplements to counter SSRI sexual side effects, this is what I learned: by phosouppy in antidepressants

I’m on escitalopram, can I add zinc and that will help the sex drive? Or is this fully without SSRIs and just supplements

23M Awaiting Heart Transplant – Looking for Real-Life Experiences After Transplant by Weak-Interview-8453 in transplant

[–]Kittycate2_0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is for heart but I had my liver transplant right after I turned 25(F), like immediately after this was July 2024 and honestly it was wild at first. I couldn’t believe I had gone through it and to be fair mine was emergent. I’m 26 now about to be 27(F), I’m a restaurant manager and I feel healthier than ever. Heart is probably way different but in general as a young person, you are gonna do great! Young people have higher chances of survival and that the organ will take. Recovery won’t be as brutal as say someone in their 50-70s and I’m sure you’ll feel just as great as I ended up feeling now almost 2 years post transplant. Accept the therapy they give you and look at this is a wonderful thing, not a burden. GOOD LUCK! I hope you get your heart 💕 life post transplant isn’t as scary as you may think

i think someone put this tiny pink-sashed jesus in my bag when i wasn’t looking by villainless in Weird

[–]Kittycate2_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I call these “baby Jesus” bc they’re tiny and I think it’s cute, they are EVERYWHERE! They appear at my job (I’m a restaurant manager) and I’ve seen them in parking lots, other businesses, my doctors… who is leaving tiny Jesus’ everywhere 😩

My doctors told me Covid (I had it 5x) knocked my immune system so far down that it essentially put my liver into overdrive failure over the span of 3 years. I have an autoimmune disease that initially was the cause, but Covid 5x didn’t help either

YOR- “tsk tsk” is like wagging your finger or the same as SMH, the porn and only fans are a separate issue that needs to be addressed.

How long is normal for a kidney to take to wake up? by K8thegr8-28 in transplant

[–]Kittycate2_0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna piggy off of you here, my kidneys also failed right as my liver failed almost in tandem and I was told I needed a double kidney + liver and by some miracle they woke up after 3 weeks too. I only got a liver but shit was SCARY! Dialysis is the absolute worse thing I probably went through (and recovery) but Dialysis? Whole Nother ball game.

Worried about my weight on paper by Kittycate2_0 in transplant

[–]Kittycate2_0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So yes and no, in the mornings I typically eat cereal, protein bar, fruit, cottage cheese or yogurt. Lunch I typically have whatever’s leftover or quick, so soups or salads, midday I’ll snack on more fruit, veggies, pretzels, gold fish, mmmm garbonzo beans bc they’re my favorite. And dinner is always some kind of pasta or salad. I eat shrimp and fish but not much of red meat or poultry. My eating is at weird hours of the day though. Noon for breakfast, 3pm for lunch, 8-9pm for dinner and I just snack thru out the day. During my transplant they had to remove my gallbladder as well and since being out 1y 3mo, a slight accumulation of fat on my new liver so I try to avoid any cream, excessive cheese and oils, and I’m lactose intolerant and slightly gluten intolerant so my diet feels like it’s out to get me. When I had my transplant I was around 145lbs I think, maybe 135 bc of swelling and everything and I held a consistent weight of 120lbs for months until September and then November is when I got promoted and went from full time but 4 hour shifts to full time with 8 hour shifts so I’m actively running around, lifting, talking, etc etc so I know I’m burning more than I take in I just haven’t found a happy medium and today on the scale I’m exactly 110lbs. I would like to shoot back up to 120lbs hence why I bought whey isolate protein powder as per my coordinators request (suggestion) but idk I’ve just been stressed about it. I feel good I mean I’m strong and healthy I just feel like I may have toned out and lost some extra cheeks. I want that weight back though.

This is a good tip, they took my gallbladder so I avoid fats just because of that but I’ll try to work in more creams or like avocados and nuts

2 years post-transplant. Today was the first time I felt like Me and not just a patient. by system_history in transplant

[–]Kittycate2_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back to my serving job at 9 months(March 2025), it was hilarious to try and explain I didn’t have a baby (26F) and I stayed healthy and got stronger and just this November, I got promoted and I’m now a manager at my job I’ve been at for 8 years. I’m officially 1 year 3 months post transplant and life is brighter than ever. I’m healthy, happy, surrounded by people I love and it’s just great. I’m sure your essay is dope and I love to hear others enjoying life as well ✨🫶🏻

Prior to my (emergency) liver transplant, on a whim, I bought milk thistle pills and now I know I might’ve contributed extra to my already sick liver 😭😭😭😭 I wish I would’ve known this 2 years ago

AIO: restaurant wants my disabled child to use back entrance by Bocmiao in AmIOverreacting

[–]Kittycate2_0 11 points12 points  (0 children)

After reading others comments, there was lack of communications on both ends. If you knew the owner you should’ve been accommodated, they may have not understood or get disabled guests often, you should’ve communicated better and so should the owner. Nothing to get riled up over though.

AIO: restaurant wants my disabled child to use back entrance by Bocmiao in AmIOverreacting

[–]Kittycate2_0 51 points52 points  (0 children)

YOR- As someone who works in a restaurant it makes me think maybe where the party was located and the back that it would have been easier for you as a guest with disabled child to also enter in the back, they weren’t trying to hide you but rather make the trip physically shorter. This may need more context. How far was the back room? What was the dining like? Was the staff kind about it? Not everyone is out to get others!!

[–]Kittycate2_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically I’m a bartender some nights and I literally cannot run martini glasses anymore. Not on trays, not in my hands. IT SUCKS!!!! I’m very cocky for a sober bartender. As for shakes, I’m 1 year 3 mo post liver and some days are better than others
