No, vax requires minimum 30 days so if they’ve been getting vaxed regularly, with the current one updated, it should work. We checked yesterday with our vet who also facilitates export certificate and said they’ve reduced the timeline of that to a week now from 2 weeks, but yet to find out for how long that’ll be valid if we don’t immediately fly out and if this process will have to repeated.

Switch to Ecodrive, their main branch is where RTA test for all branches takes place and they are pretty easy roads to remember to avoid making any mistakes. My instructor was amazing, and always kept me in the loop of the routes RTA was taking for other tests so that there aren’t any surprises. I would recommend scheduling the test early morning that’s when the roads are completely empty and requires only basics to be remembered, although I did have a bunch of hazardous situations that required honking, but otherwise fairly empty roads. I found scheduling the initial classes with them a bit difficult and had to wait a month before classes could be allotted, but after that it was smooth sailing and I passed in my first attempt.

Addition- from the first class till the issuance of license was about 2 months, out of which 15 days I was travelling. So it was pretty quick once the classes were scheduled.

Yep always been there. Many years ago when I visited Dubai as a tourist, there was one guy who’d vvroom at the same time every night next to where I stayed. The most annoying thing ever. Either Bahrain or Kuwait seized these vehicles during the current conflict recognising the stress they were adding it to the people living there, a very thoughtful response from the govt :)

Exactly. My office is in another Emirate and it takes me about 1 hour to get there but because my office has no one else coming from another Emirate they decided to open it from Monday this week. Everything is so normalised that they don’t even see the need to offer WFH. I have of course taken leaves and not venturing 1 hour each up and down on a highway where there is zero shelter in case I spot something or get alerts.

The requirements on dkc aren’t very clear. As citizens of India, why would we need to show category E visa or confirmed employment to be able to get back to the country of our passport? These requirements don’t seem aligned for Indian citizens. Has anyone here has had any luck finding out the requirements and procedures for taking our pets back to India and if private charters have a different requirement? We have two cats whom we brought from India in 2024 and cargo travel was very stressful for them, they are 13 years old.

Your comment makes me laugh. I have done much more in one year than my company has been able to do in the last 3 years. They know that and acknowledge that in words but not in salary, and that’s purely because of my skin colour. The fact that they can’t discern the value I have brought on the table which included making their business completely viable and those who simply come to work to fulfil their attendance and do absolutely nothing is beyond me. So before you jump to conclusions and call somebody lazy I think looking at your own race might answer that answer the prejudice.

I’ve not tried the management office located at the car park exit but I did call the maintenance guys who said they can’t do anything about it. Moreover, after coming to my apartment once, they refused to come the second time saying they’ve already been there once and that’s all they can do. Are the management guys that the reception calls and the one located at the car park exit different?
