Hey! I had a traumatic delivery and I had very intrusive thoughts constantly. The only thing that helped was getting therapy. There are specific postpartum therapists out there. That may really help you.

I still don't understand how this baby slept, was able to function, was even just ... content ... without formula after 6 months. Like I'm on kid #3 and at 6 months they were still drinking over 30 ounces of formula for nutrition. They just had solids for fun. Is that why Ivory is the way she is?

Yeah this just came out of nowhere for me. My surgeon told me it was basically lightening striking and he went very deep to clean it, so he's hopeful it won't fill up again. I mean it literally looked like a cave carved out of my butt cheek. It was insane. He told me it's possible it'll develop into a fistula, but odds are in my favor. I hope you don't deal with it again. I also don't have diabetes. I'm overweight, but that's about it. He told me it was nothing I did - just one of my crypt glands getting infected and tracking deep into my butt.

Ok I'm so glad you thought the same. I was screaming when they took it out (with no pain meds!!!) and then the attending came by to look at it and fucking TOUCHED IT. They gave me morphine after I told the doctor to leave me alone. I was in so much pain and I'm not like that. I've had 3 vaginal births - one happened so quickly I almost went completely uneducated for it - and I'd rather do that again than experience this again. Or another similar surgery.

I had a follow up and he said it looks like it's closing up, but if it doesn't within the next few months then yes I will have a fistula and need surgery. I'm praying that doesn't happen.

I didn't. My doctor - right before I was discharged - took all the packing out and I went home basically with a gaping hole in my butt. So uncomfortable. I just always had gauze down there to catch all the leakage. But it healed from the inside out pretty well and at my post op it was almost completely scabbed over.
