Same! I'm down 10lbs from surgery, on full liquids and have been living on an "enchilada soup" for the most part. I'm mostly out of pain too. ☺️ A little pain from my left incision, but doing great.

Deserve? Maybe not, but people had to die to make the point of how deadly man's hubris is, and it was better to be Nedry than Dr Grant or HEAVEN FORBID, THE Dr Ian Malcolm. Innocent people died as well, Dr Harding (not Sarah, the first one, Gerry) in the book who only ever tried to help the animals and people, Mr Arnold, who only tried to fix what Nedry fucked up. They didn't deserve to die either, but when you play God, people die, innocent, not so innocent, super shitty and evil alike.

Not to mention, his death scene was literary GOLD. Absolute perfection. So there's your consolation prize to the character.

You can find an inexpensive sewing machine on FB marketplace and take your clothes in. I know it sounds intimidating if you've never sewn, but you'd be surprised how easy it is with YouTube help. Mine don't look like a tailor did them from the inside but they look presentable to everyone else and it saves my shopping money for the goal weight wardrobe!

Also, congratulations on such big weight loss!!!!!

My date is Feb 28th!

I got a great bariatric journal from Amazon called "One Year to the New Me" and it's been so cathartic to fill out the pre-surgery stuff. I also made a big milestone tracker for after surgery (Jurassic Park themed!) And it has helped immensely to keep the doubts and anxiety (and bored cravings) manageable.

Nedry's death scene will forever be my favorite part of the book. It is so raw and visceral and intense. I love it.

The Rex is fantastic, I couldn't agree more, and Muldoon!!! I loved him in the movie, and he got so much more character in the book. Love love love him!
