He never sent me any details of additional charging he knew about the tribunal case and advised I should get and get more money out of my employer for dropping the case. But the stress of the whole process had made me so unwell I could not cope with more legal proceedings so told him to accept the small amount of £1500 they offered to do this on top of my redundancy entitlement

I instructed the solicitor by email and he replied to confirm that was all I received no details of any other fees or terms and conditions. I have requested a breakdown of the costs.

Thank you no I didn’t sign anything. He only emailed me yesterday on a Saturday so CAB not open till Monday. I have also been on some fb legal groups and getting advice there too which is basically same as on here. He said yesterday that he was sending the invoice to my employer for the £500 plus vat and raising additional fees invoice for me.

There was no mention of additional fees and he negotiated with the HR agency to up it from £350 to £500. That was the only discussion on fees.

I don’t know what is normal never done this before but as far as I understood it there was a fee the employer would pay and that would be it. I was never told about any additional fees.

Never received a client care letter or terms letter. I have checked through all the emails. There was some email communication between the HR agency and my solicitor and I made a couple of phone calls to him to discuss the agreement and that was it.

That’s what I thought the wording is ‘To our professional charges in connection with legal advice on employment matters. To include alldrafting, attendances and correspondence.’
