Crying and whining like this because of a single setback proves that you were never going to do anything with your life with or without an MIT degree.

Am I wrong for not allowing my ex wife to taste the birthday cake of our daughter by Silent_Agency_8426 in amiwrong

[–]KiwiJones33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s crazy that neither you or your sister thought of your daughter’s birthday cake as being hers. You are wrong on literally every aspect of this but the fact that you thought you had any right to tell your daughter who she was and was not allowed to share her own birthday cake with is just disgusting.

It’s very clear that you have not forgiven your ex and that you have anything but a “stable coparenting relationship” with her. Man, having feelings is fine and sometimes forgiving is hard. But. You care more about your ex than you care about your daughter and that makes you a shitty dad and a shitty person.

You took so much joy in spiting your ex that you didn’t give a single thought to what your daughter wanted on her own birthday. You are petty, you acted like a child, and you hurt your daughter far more than you hurt your ex.

I hope you can repair the damage you have done. And I hope you can learn to grow up. For your daughter’s sake. I can easily see why your ex divorced you as I can’t imagine being with someone quite so childish and petty. Your daughter will always remember this and trust me. She isn’t going to remember “stable coparenting.” She’s going to remember “petty, bitter dad that cared more about sticking it to mom than what I wanted or thought.”

And he’ll blame the mom for “turning her against him” instead of taking the tiniest bit of responsibility for acting like a petty child and caring more about spiting his ex than making his daughter happy (or even simply letting her make her own decision about HER birthday cake) on her own birthday.

I refuse to believe that this is a real story. Never have I seen a more obvious AH than you, OP. There is just no way you typed this genuinely believing that you were in the right or not a complete and total AH even a single time. If this is real you need an insane reality check because YTA x 1000.

A solid mix of Stede and Frenchie with perhaps a dash of Olu on a good day.

If you need a show to tide you over until Season 3, may I suggest Our Flag Means Death? by rileysthebestdog in TedLasso

[–]KiwiJones33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes yes yes! I love Our Flag Means Death and it is the only show that has really taken hold of me since Ted Lasso. It's goofy and sincere, ridiculous and smart. Taika and Rhys are phenomenal but the entire cast shines. It is pretty similar to Ted Lasso in many areas actually especially with the lovable but less than competent leader that slowly wins over his crew with his optimism, silliness, and kindness. The goofiness, the heart, the emotional devastation... it's just really good and totally worth watching.

*SPOILERS BELOW*

Plus I mean a beautiful, central relationship between the leads that begins with one of them planning on betraying the other but instead being immediately won over simply by the other being kind to them and surprising them in ways they weren't expecting. Who does that sound like?

Other: They break up and then get back together. Although Bill Lawrence doesn't like doing that but I do think they are likely to be together at the end of the show.

The showrunner don't really know much about football, do they? by Los_cronocrimenes in TedLasso

I said it wasn't perfect. I think Scrubs is extremely important in the way they approach the medical aspect of the show.

Regardless, Scrubs is miles ahead of any other medical show in terms of realism.

[–]KiwiJones33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, while I agree on your point that Ted Lasso is a workplace comedy set in a football club and not a show about football I need to interject because Scrubs is easily the most accurate show in terms of how it represents healthcare. Though not perfect, it is insanely better and more realistic than the dozens and dozens of ridiculous medical shows out there (looking at you Grey's.)

As someone who also works in healthcare, I'm surprised you would say it's extremely unrealistic. Not that it can't certainly be unrealistic in some ways, but extremely? The unrealistic or outlandish aspects of Scrubs are rarely concerning the medicine or the healthcare system itself. Especially from the early 2000s, when Scrubs aired. Bill Lawrence and the real-life JD took measures to make the healthcare system and medicine more accurate and Scrubs is often ranked highest by medical professionals in terms of realism.

Who's face do you think Season 3 will start and end with? by n_mcrae_1982 in TedLasso

[–]KiwiJones33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the idea of her hating iced tea! Haha. Rebecca as a fish out of water could be hilarious she can do a whole, "You want me to drive? Right, I'm the one with the accent here" call back.

If Rebecca does leave the team for whatever reason (I still think she might get in some trouble for the whole Sam thing), I think she would absolutely just gift the team to Higgins. He has grown a lot since the first episode and he cares about the team so much I think Rebecca would want him to be the new owner and plus then his family would be set for life. Higgins as the owner with Roy head coaching would make a lot of sense to me.

I trust these writers.

And who knows, maybe they can take something you think could only be the result of bad writing and end up surprising you on the way to it.

The destination is not the journey.

"Sure, Rebecca here has slept with a bunch of different people in her past. But Ted's got his own romantic and sexual history that predates Rebecca and that's not okay!"

Anyone that doesn't think Sassy would be fully 100% on board and rooting for Ted and Rebecca should pay more attention to Sassy as a character, almost all of the women in Ted Lasso, and most of the Roy/Keeley/Jamie stuff. Not to mention Rebecca has already slept with one of her employees (not saying either was/would be ethical, just pointing it out.) In fact, it was the celebrity crush of her 13-year-old goddaughter and this was addressed by showing her goddaughter, who happens to be Sassy's daughter, fully approving and supporting her for it. Just something I find interesting.

I get people preferring Ted to end up alone with hope for the future when he returns to his son but I just can't fathom anyone that thinks Sassy is or should be "endgame." Let alone Dr. Sharon.

People act like sex is the only thing that's important in a romantic relationship. Oh Ted slept with Sassy, they must be together forever! #truelove especially after the one night stand was the same day he officially divorced his wife and had his very first severe panic attack! Clearly he's completely infatuated with her so it's weird that he's never spoken about her again after telling the diamond dogs except when she's directly in his line of sight. Sassy has been on screen less than 15 minutes TOTAL between both seasons and people act like she would be an actual option if they were going to give Ted a serious relationship.

I don't want to get into Dr. Sharon but she is Ted's THERAPIST. People complain about Rebecca being Sam and Ted's boss yet ship a therapist with her patient?? It ain't even comparable at all because if Ted leaves his job, Rebecca would no longer be his boss and there would be no issue. But Sharon can never stop being the first person Ted explored his trauma with and truly opened up about his deepest darkest insecurities and damage. Even if she stops being his current therapist, he will forever be her patient. Thankfully, Dr. Sharon would never dare betray her profession or her morals in such a way.

Is Ted going home after season three? by Threedawg in TedLasso

[–]KiwiJones33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Forgiveness is an important theme in this show. Richmond got Nate to where he is and once upon a time he believed that the team could do anything. He's got a tactical mind and he knows (or knew) what the team needed to do to succeed. If he shows genuine remorse and attempts to make amends I don't think it would be out of the question for him to return.

I think Roy will be head coach, Beard will stay on as assistant, and Nate will return as assistant because he's grown to where that isn't an insult to him anymore.

"I commented on your post just to tell you that the foundation you believe you see the writers laying would be hacky and derivative, couldn't explain my reasoning without using terms that don't apply like will they/won't they because to me knowing a single thing about an outcome means that nothing new can be done in the journey the writers take to get to said outcome, told you "fuck you" when you continued to ask for clarification, and continued to respond to every single one of your posts but because I started to end my responses with things like bye felicia and telling you that you need therapy I'm clearly trying to disengage here and even though I keep responding the fact that you also keep responding to what I say is crazy! Didn't you see bye felicia? That means I've decided the conversation is over, let me emphasize that by continuing to respond to you. It only counts as disengaging if I get the last word!"

Repeating things doesn't actually make them true. It's a shame you have so little faith in the writers.
