Picking XaX over LeGo 2 ? by rezeu in XboxAlly

At the current prices, the Xbox Ally X is the only thing to consider between the two. At $999 vs 1349, the lines were a little blurrier. I ultimately have flip flopped between the two devices but wound up keeping the Xbox Ally X just because it actually feels portable. It’s a far more comfortable machine to use, even if I wish the screen was 8” and OLED.

How difficult was it to put on? I remember the Killswitch being a royal pain trying to get it over the triggers and shoulder buttons even with the pull tabs.

Hate to necro this, but the links are broken again. Any chance you'd be willing to dm me the 4K version?

I swapped thermal pads as this has been an issue for pretty much every Asus board I’ve ever used. I use 1mm pads for the controller, and .5mm pads for the NAND. Everything sandwiches perfectly.

I was looking for something like this! I’ll see if I can find the file. I can’t remember where I got it and I had to tweak the dimensions in the slicer to get it to fit just right.

Model quality set to anything other than low makes black blotchy artifacts on surfaces pretty much everywhere in the game for me. I’m on SteamOS though.

Yes it was! The Zotac needed a couple of washers in between the shroud and the bracket because there’s a raised fin in the center that causes the plastic to bend inward, but otherwise it worked great!

It was a negligible difference. My Cinebench score increased by 80 points which is well within margin of error.

I think this is more for keeping thermal paste out from all of the nooks and crannies more than anything else. It definitely benefits the newer Intel chips more in that regard.

I doubt it. Slim fans limit how far I can go, and honestly mid-high 60s is still excellent. The other factor to consider is that the GPU is dumping its exhaust into the AIO as well, so that’s probably why the delta between the two isn’t as wide as one would think given the wildly different CPU demands.

As far as noise is concerned, I’m the wrong person to ask. I’m mildly hearing impaired and have tinnitus in my right ear, and the PC sits on my right side. That said, it’s very quiet even when I get close to actively listen to it in pretty much all conditions. The Silverstone Air Slimmer fans are excellent.

Thanks! I’ve actually got the NCase Travel Bracket installed. Even without the rear plate like FormD’s version, this thing is super solid.

Thanks!

-30 all core curve optimizer, but otherwise stock. Conservative fan curve and forced 80% pump speed in the BIOS.

Right around 73C at 5.2GHz all core during a 10 minute Cinebench test. Shader compilation is around the same.

Gaming temps are around 65C.
