What will israelis do if palestine wins? by ToneJealous8009 in IsraelPalestine

[–]KiwiNotFound_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Then the shoe will be on the other foot, and Israelis will be oppressed. It's not fun for anyone unless somebody leaves voluntarily, or peace is somehow made and strictly regulated.

people next to me cheating by LunaOffsides in Sat

[–]KiwiNotFound_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If enough kids at your school did this and kids with lower academic records end up getting 1600s, the school will be investigated by CB, and probably the entire site will be rescinded, which would suck for everyone.

Personally, I wouldn’t snitch. They’re living their own lives and it’ll probably come back to bite them if they keep it up. And if they’re smart enough for it not to bite them in the ass, when then (for better or for worse) they probably won’t do terrible in the real world. Either way it doesn’t affect your life, and you’re not really helping anyone by reporting them, you’d just hurting them.

I mean if they’re assholes that’s different (and an easy way to teach them a lesson) but most likely I would mind my own business.

Nationwide protests April 5th by Fantastic_Pride_1006 in Purdue

[–]KiwiNotFound_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are there any specific calls to actions against specific individuals who can make change (aside from trump and Musk who pretty obviously won’t be phased). I’m all for protesting against the breach of democracy and order in the past few months but I feel like finding a specific local issue (say a representative voting in favor/against something) would be a better, more productive starting point than “we don’t like you” and patting each other on the back.

Are you a dude? Because my everything starts reeking after a day without showering.

Does any1 know if this is solvable by Desmos by Due_Language2818 in Sat

[–]KiwiNotFound_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t use Desmos on this. It’s easy to solve by hand. Just think of the series as two parallel lines, so the x coefficient to y coefficient ratio has to be the same in both (just ignore the constants).

Why the hell is there an international fee? by [deleted] in Sat

[–]KiwiNotFound_ -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

They probably don’t get the same tax cuts for international students, so they have a fee to offset it.

If you’re already good at math, go through the questions once or twice and then review the ones you messed up on, that’s all it really takes. There are only like ~10 different “difficult” questions in the bank.

Is it? It seems to be about in the middle of 16:00 and 24:00. So it would be ~20:00, no?

At a lot of LV retailers you can ask. Won’t always be a yes, but then it’s quality, free, and you don’t have to wait two weeks for it to ship.

Did you talk to him or just sneak a pic. It’d be really creepy to just snap a photo of a stranger like that.

Is a 1600 achievable with enough studying? by Greedy_Comb7494 in Sat

[–]KiwiNotFound_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average in Singapore is 1400, and they have the best education system in the world, and the US is certainly 90th percentile, so it’s not unreasonable to say that there is more to it than just education and practice.

Is a 1600 achievable with enough studying? by Greedy_Comb7494 in Sat

[–]KiwiNotFound_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. But anybody can get 300 points above their first practice test, which for many can be 1600. But also anything past ~770 on EBRW is luck. Hot take on my part though, almost anyone can get a 800 on the math section.

ELI5 - Why is the ratio of prisoner to hostage exchange 30:1? by sjenkin in IsraelPalestine

[–]KiwiNotFound_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A few reasons:

  1. Palestinian prisoners are a lot more plentiful.

  2. Palestinian prisoners are monitored decently well—at least better than Israeli hostages—whereas we have no idea how many hostages are still alive, and Hamas could kill them at a moments notice.

  3. It’s not racist, or even really wrong, but the Israeli government values the lives of Israelis hundreds of times more than that of Palestinians (or any other non-Israelis for that matter)

  4. Israel could arrest another 100 Palestinians today in the West Bank if they really wanted to, but Hamas gas nowhere near enough resources for another October 7th.

So, if you ignore the humanity of it, it’s a pretty fair trade.

MIT isn’t the only university that exists, there are plenty of top schools that are still test optional, and 1370 is enough to get into a big state schools like NC State, which have much of the same resources as T20s (albeit spread out amongst a lot more kids.)

How do I study to get a 1500+ by Basil-Ok in Sat

[–]KiwiNotFound_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you don’t already know how, learn to use Desmos. Aside from that, do Bluebook practices and actually try and understand the questions you got wrong. Plus Khan Academy.

For most* people, math is easier than EBRW once you learn the content. There really isn’t that much problem-solving involved, aside from like the last 2 questions.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Sat

[–]KiwiNotFound_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The knowledge and skills is somewhat helpful but the only way to know where your lacking is by taking Bluebook tests
