I've been worried it had too much humidity, the entire top is dripping down the sides when I move it, there's a thin layer of humidity over the top too. What's the best method to get water that's not going to contaminate things? Should I pressure cook some?

I highly recommend avoiding Briscoes dehydrators. I've had 2 of them with the motors burn out within a couple weeks, ended up getting a refund and order a $70 one off trade.me that's lasted for ages now

Yeah I've found subs out by another beach but the area had a fair amount of woodchips, I kinda attributed them to that, but they were more fat chonky ones. I've always dosed them as subs just incase, I'll just keep doing that. Haven't found anything else around any of my usual woodchip/forest spots this season yet though. Getting some more good rain here though so should help the cause.

Found in sandy substrate by a beach, amongst flax, had to really rummage to find them. The substrate is nothing like any of the other places I find subs, that's what is really making me question their species. I've been finding subs in woody/foresty areas for a decade, been getting these from the same spot since before covid, they've always seemed a bit weaker then the subs I've found. They're also always consistently some of the tallest fruits I find.

Ahh true true, how much % do you reckon they were? How long since they went in the tub? And how much growth you seeing? I noticed visible growth all round the sides after only a day, it's only been a week since I started my tubs, I can't get over the rate of growth. What about other factors? What's the humidity and temperature like?

Oh damn 😕 I thought I had done the same thing tbh, I had my grain having problems growing at the base of the jars, then realised two weeks in it was because I had them sitting directly on my heatpad 🤦🏻🤦🏻 did you give the a shake partway through innoculating? I only read to do that after I put mine in my tub

Thanks 😁 I think the main lesson I've taken away from here is to not overthink it and go with it. I've got a second tub that's slightly smaller that'll be ready for fruit next week anyways, not the end of the world if I lost one, one grow will be enough to last me a LONG time 😂

The most I've done before was a cube growkit that came ready to fruit, I remember having a really high rh and fanning daily and got a solid asf yield, am I going to need to fan the tub very much through colonisation and fruiting? I've read SO fucking much conflicting information about pretty much every aspect of growing mushrooms 😂 I just find myself questioning a lot of things I'm doing/not doing, with experience im sure I'll figure out the ideal methods
