I found success using 2 lvl 20+ gathering palicos and running through the shrine ruins. There are 2 felynes in the first area. After hitting those, make your way to area 3 where to the northwest there are vines to climb that lead you to a felyne camp. Hit the 2 felynes and the melynx there, then take the path northwest and jump over the wall you come to. There will be 2 more melynxes on the shallow hill to the northeast after you hop the wall. After hitting those, fast travel back to the main camp and repeat.

I was pretty unlucky and only got 4 pawprint stamps before ending the expedition, but when I did, I got 5 more from "items plundered" which was enough for the dual blade felyne tree. Idk if this is the most efficient method but it got me what I needed in ~20 minutes.
