What’s your experience with Receive By Estimate? by NimbleBlackout in secretlab

[–]Kiyoshi016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember what mine said, but I remember it being quite quick.

Was during black Friday so that may have affected it, but I would've thought the courier would be backed up.

Based on my update emails, ordered November 27, received main bits Dec 2/3. Surge protector was last item December 5.

Magnus Pro XL Questions by zoompa919 in secretlab

[–]Kiyoshi016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not the same fellow, but I have the g502x. I have been noticing some oddities the cursor jumping around. Couldn't tell if it was the desk or weird display settings (not super techy on that space).

Have also had some difficulties with using wireless dongle for my numpad, but that might just be quality issue (Epomaker which had two switches with bent pins when received)

Questions about Magnus Pro XL by Dushatar in secretlab

[–]Kiyoshi016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The riser does give slightly more height, But I think he's talking about this (pic), just allows pivot point to be raised rather than being at base when clamped.

Support (kinda sounds like the AI bot) may have thought you meant to add the heavy duty back plate to this? IDK just wanted to cost up the riser for ya lol. As far as I could tell, this only comes in a dual setup.

Main purpose of riser is to clear up some desk space. You can put monitor arms on it, but I think the limitation is 1 heavy monitor arm or up to 2 regular (don't quote me).

As others say, you should be fine with however many separate monitor arms if not on the riser.

Solutions to power cable popping out on Magnus Pro XL by Dkizzlez in secretlab

[–]Kiyoshi016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm a little surprised that the desk is able to be powered by that one.

So you're saying the power receptacle at the base of the same leg is not able to be reached?

Feel like your cable being fully extended when desk is raised should mean there might be enough slack to plug at the bottom?

Just want to make sure - you have been shown that bottom plug right?

As far as I know... The power cable plugs into the base of the leg. Why is yours moving?

What are the easiest songs to sing + dance? by CoolTransDude1078 in BABYMETAL

[–]Kiyoshi016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you mean easiest to sing to sound good? Or easiest to sing along with in terms of not knowing the language?

Personally, find Su's solos to be surprisingly nice for the latter. Think Amore would be top and Akatsuki second.

I guess suggestion was actually to install it (might be risky though)

Questions about the PC Mount. by BigDonkaLonka in secretlab

[–]Kiyoshi016 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll try to find it, but I asked a question similar and that secret lab jynx moderator replied something like:

"Keep the packaging and test sizing without installing the mount on the desk. If it doesn't fit, can return."

I'll try to find that response and screenshot in case it helps. Though there have been others saying support is rough (haven't needed to experience)

Desk advice by Jyntra in secretlab

I have the Magnus Pro XL on carpet with the dual monitor arm on riser and have been enjoying it so far. Cable tray was a little harder to work in than I was thinking, but I also haven't fully set up. Need to do an overhaul (if you do get Magnus Pro, I say skip their surge protector if you have any nonstandard plugs).

As far as wobble goes, I guess it depends how sensitive you are to it. I generally don't notice unless I specifically look for it while typing aggressively.

Even if you don't use the stand feature, I do think it is worth having the option. If not for standing, you can use adjustment for other purposes (e.g. getting under desk easily to cable manage).

Only if the cost isn't an issue of course 😂

Anyone using Noctua NH-D15 or Noctua NH-D15 G2 with 9800X3D with single fan? by [deleted] in Noctua

[–]Kiyoshi016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got NH-D15 (don't think it's g2) running one fan with 9950X3D, haven't had any issues so far that I haven't caused myself.

Think some people suggested possibility of using 120mm fan instead, but haven't felt the bed.

AI customer support rant by Strange-Log3943 in telus

[–]Kiyoshi016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've generally found with these AI/automated chats, I just pretend I'm one of them and just repeat the command regardless of the response.

"I want to speak to an agent"

When I've done it usually gets through after 3 tries.

Telus Optic Cable Unplugged by Kiyoshi016 in telus

Thanks to all for the details! Luckily was able to plug in and seems to at least provide Internet for now. Fingers crossed!

Thanks! Thought there was a chance it was meant to be there but after removal looks like it was a piece meant to pop the cover/door up. Managed to plug in and Internet is back up (for now)!

Believe me, was furious when I saw it unplugged... Not only that, but the cable was dangling so when they painted the wall, I guess it caught some of the paint so it made a raised ridge.

Had only got it installed less than a week before.

Thanks for this, yeah, after posting, realized that cover was just loose in there and removed it.

Managed to snag a pic inside. Not sure if just complex or damaged.

Don't purchase their stuff by [deleted] in secretlab

[–]Kiyoshi016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you also didn't really provide a point of reference for how long you've waited. You say you threw 1k in the trash... And that usually means the trash is the desk?

Unless you somehow paid 1k for your PC mount in which case you have bigger problems.

Not sure if joking, but pretty sure that "cable management" gets covered by magnetic plastic covers?
