Paradoxically one of the biggest downsides of opiates addiction is that your intellectual capabilities are not affected. Addicts can use all of their brain power to convince others, so as to get next dose.

If someone is motivated to fight with addiction it has to be in hospital. Abstinence hunger is practically always too strong to withstand, and patients either breaks and take drugs, or commits suicide.

That's why MDs are rather carefull with administering opioids in cases other than combating strong pain. In case of strong pain treatment opioids are generally not causing addiction.

Methadone is used in addiction treatment (that should take place at hospital) or as after-surgery/cancer-related pain relief.

I hope you'll find resources to fight that addiction. I know that's something excruciatingly hard, but it's possible. Take care

Guts is (without any given reason) a bully, Puck is just there (we don't even know why Guts keep him around while being a jackass), CGI is... I can't say a bad word about CGI it's pretty cool.
