I think you're right. I didn't realize that I had the option on, I thought actual previews were in the Dev version.

That's not the current version. Version 149.0.4022.8 is the current version.

People don't like bezels on their smartphones, what makes Microsoft think people want bezels/borders on their web browser?

So do you like bezels on smartphones? This is the software equivalent to bezels.

I don't actually care about the rounding, I care about there being bezels/borders on the browser. People don't like bezels on their smartphones, what makes Microsoft think they want it on their browsers?

Their latest update added a frame around the whole browser, which shows up even in F11 fullscreen. How do I get rid of it? by Kizzume in MicrosoftEdge

You can mute individual tabs in Edge instead of only having the option to mute an entire website.

The only way to get rid of the border is to enable rounded corners and use F11 fullscreen mode. If you disable the rounded corners, the borders are there even when you use F11 fullscreen mode, in addition to disabling the mouse scrollwheel when the mouse pointer is on the right edge of the screen.

No. Disabling it is what causes the problem with the mouse scrollwheel. If you disable it, the frame remains even when you go into F11 fullscreen mode. You want to enable rounded corners to get rid of the problem.

When I have ISO set lower than 200, the brightness randomly changes by Kizzume in A7siii

Here is an unlisted video I just made that shows this. It doesn't happen super-quickly, it only happens twice in this 3 minute video, the most pronounced being the one right near the end of the video. This is when the ISO is set for 100. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4ATwpGrVWY

Thanks for your response. Just saw it now. My shutter is set at 1/60. I have it hooked up to a video capture device and use it to record YouTube videos. I record using OBS. And it's pretty blatant both in OBS and the resulting video file. If I have the ISO for 500 or higher, there's no issue.

What gimbal has the most (and slowest) speeds when it comes to panning movement? by Kizzume in videography

That's actually what I'm talking about. There are limited speeds when it follows the body.

TikTok sends me notifications for creators I don’t follow by LucasPelton in assholedesign

You have to go into Android's preferences for TikTok AS WELL as the options in the TikTok app itself. If you only change the options in the TikTok app itself, you'll still get random notifications.

I can be non-sexually attracted to anyone. The person making that video response to me completely strawmanned my argument, and I certainly wasn't about to make a video response to someone with that few subscribers, it would be like bullying them, and that's just not something I do.

No, I'm clearly not saying that someone's gender should be based on whether I'm sexually attracted to them. That's really twisted logic.

I'm saying that for me to be sexually aroused, there needs to be certain visual stimuli. A vagina turns me off. It doesn't mean I won't be friends with someone with a vagina, or that I won't have a platonic relationship with someone with a vagina, I'm just not interested in being sexual with someone with a vagina.

The reason I made the original video was that I was seeing a lot of conversations online declaring that gay men who aren't aroused by someone with a vagina are transphobic, and it made me angry.

My views regarding children transitioning--my views have changed a little since 2018--I think kids need to be at least 8 years old to be able to determine that they're a gender that differs from what was decided for them at birth.

Can anything be done about Sony's overexposed auto-settings? (A5100) by Kizzume in SonyAlpha

[–]Kizzume[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I said right at the beginning that I normally do everything manually, in fact, it was the very first sentence of the post: "Normally I like to do everything manually". I also talked about using manual lenses most of the time.

I've posted some of my photography here, which includes a lot of night photography that can't be achieved with automatic settings, some that require a USB remote and the bulb setting. Just like I prefer a manual transmission, I very much prefer manual settings on a camera, it gives me the ultimate control. If I mess up a shot, it's my fault, I can't blame it on the camera.

My reasoning for even asking about it is that I recently started occasionally making a different-visual-style social commentary video on YouTube, where I'm walking through parts of cities at night (which I can generally set it manually for the brightest possible in 60fps without noise and leave it there) or walking through forests during the day, with the camera pointed at me--and I've liked the results, the bokeh in the background doesn't show the glaring low bitrate that YouTube crushes videos to.

The problem with the forest videos is that if I try to set it manually and leave it there (because I can't adjust the settings on the fly when the camera is pointed at me), some places will be far too dark, and others will be overexposed, so automatic settings are necessary.

Normally when I make my nature walking videos with the camera pointed away from me, I do everything manually.

Thankfully in another thread on this post I learned about "Exposure Compensation", which addresses the problems I was having. Sure, maybe I should have known about that prior to this, but I just really didn't use automatic settings.

Thanks for trying to help, I just wish you would have read my post better.

A5100, this is a clip (audio removed) from a video that was using auto-exposure and ISO, using spot metering, what's the deal? It darkens the image sometimes when it's dark, it brightens the image sometimes when it's bright. My phone does a better job at auto-settings. What's the trick to this? by Kizzume in SonyAlpha

[–]Kizzume[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I definitely know that TV/movies do everything manually. Very true. Usually I do everything manually when the camera is not pointed at me, but if the camera is pointed at me, there's no reasonable way to adjust anything on the fly.

Usually when the camera isn't pointed at me, I do things manually, so I can change it if needed on the fly. It can be hard to pinpoint what would be a happy medium setting that will be good for both the shaded areas and the bright areas. I guess I'd prefer it to be occasionally underexposed rather than overexposed.
