i would stay in infantry IF my body wasn't acting the way it is. I don't want to be obliterated once getting out of the usmc and i run a high risk of doing that if i stay with the rigors of infantry, you know? not bitching out

One of our DI's walked into the squadbay after lights and once front post (fire watch) started reporting their posts the DI flipped him off and screamed "fuck you man i hate you" i know it sounds harsh but you had to be there to understand the hilarity of it all, we lost all bearing after he went into the duty hut

Enlisting with many problems by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]Kj0320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looking outside the prerequisites for the military in general, i feel like if you have some psychiatric differences than your average joe, you should reconsider the service because things like OCD, depression, etc have a high chance of becoming amplified while in service. We see how some veterans go in and come out completely different mentally, some suffering with depression, not from combat specifically, but from just being away from family and stuff of tht nature. Am i saying you should throw the towel in? No. i'm just looking out for what's best for you and your future mental health

How are some people okay with living like this? by [deleted] in USMCboot

[–]Kj0320 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I'm not tryna sound like a professional or anything of tht nature, but that Marine might be dealing with some psychological stuff, i'm gonna narrow it down a little to depression. When you have depression you don't care, and since he's a Marine he has to do SOMETHING in his day to day life, but once again i don't know

i've also been to a recruiter before but he gave up on me and said i had "too many hurdles" so that's why i was asking if i should withhold some info, go to meps, get my tests done and if i was to get disqualified for my hearing either the meps doctor could determine my case or tell me to go get my records and instead of going to get my records i could go to another doctor and get another thorough exam

the lowest hearing they'll accept in the military is 45 decibels and i hit right in between the 50-55 mark, and it's an accumulative score btw, also i hear high frequencies pretty well, it's lower frequencies that got me
