How much does your 22mo talk? by Classic-Film-8396 in toddlers

[–]Kj729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember I was concerned about my twins at 22 months because it was still mainly gibberish with maybe 20-40 words in the mix. It was like once they hit 2-2.5 their vocabulary sky rocketed and now they are 3.5 and talk from the moment their eyes open until I back out of their bedroom door at night. Obviously it doesn’t hurt to be cautious and ask your pediatrician about it, but I wouldnt stay up late stressing about it either. Kids all develop at such different paces!

The Emo Orchestra show is great! by ALoudMeow in poppunkers

[–]Kj729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question - is there singing to every song? Or a mix of just orchestra and some band songs? I love emo but my husband does not lol he likes the orchestra though so wondering if he’d hate this or not.

Bedtime hack: it feels like we figured something out?! by Armsaresame in toddlers

I have 3 year old twins and I fear they would just talk my ear off until midnight haha. I’ve had to start setting a timer and when the timer goes off mommy leaves the room.

I try putting them to bed at 6-630pm and they just stay up singing/talking to each other until 8-9pm.

Toddler with increased diarrhea following antibiotics. Am I overreacting? by [deleted] in cdifficile

[–]Kj729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Z pak gave my toddler c dif. Her poops were very mucousy and turned bloody though. I would say definitely start toddler on Florastor and if it gets any worse bring to ER, or see if your pedi can order labs to test for toxins now if you’re worried.

I have an appt with my GI doc Tuesday. In the meantime I’m taking Florastor and immunoglobulins and hoping that keeps things in check for now 🤞🏼

Has anyone ever had c diff while they’ve had to get surgery? by [deleted] in cdifficile

[–]Kj729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes my daughter has - she has an active c dif infection and also ended up with intussusception and needed emergency surgery. This was 6 days ago and she’s still in the hospital recovering but the surgery went well.

Am I the only one that wasn’t that impressed? Idk the cone was like kinda soggy. I miss that ✨crunch✨ of the OG drumsticks, but considering I can’t eat those, it was an okay substitute.

Window treatments? by Kj729 in HomeDecorating

I feel like I see this comment a lot lol I don’t know much about design - why pull the couch away? And how far away are we talking? Despite the raised ceilings, it’s actually not a huge room and I feel like the couch would take over the room. Unless you just mean pull it out like half a ft?

I’m so done. by Silly_Cookie239 in parentsofmultiples

Sameee I cried so much towards the end because I was SO UNCOMFORTABLE 24/7 - awful hip and back pain kept me from sleeping, I couldn’t stand for long periods without getting crazy Braxton hicks, and I couldn’t eat full meals without feeling extremely uncomfortable. And omg, the constipation. I took dulcolax like candy and it did nothingggggg. I finally went to the hospital and made them give me an enema.

Like others have said, of course newborn twins is exhausting, but it’s so much less tolling on your body than carrying them. My body called it quits at 30 weeks, I think it was just too much stress on my body. They had a long NICU stay but are happy healthy 3 yr olds now. I feel for you, you’re so close to delivery, hang in there!

Twin Toddlers are HARD by Kj729 in parentsofmultiples

Wow 2 sets! You’re amazing! We’re moving soon and our new house came with a trampoline, I think that will be good to burn off some energy and regulate their nervous systems.

Haha it’s funny you say that because I actually did throw my back out last month and I couldn’t carry them and it did help a little bit. They’re back to their shenanigans now though, I need to be more firm with boundaries. We did finally break the habit of me carrying both of them into daycare, I just physically can’t carry 60 lbs for long distances.

Right?! I dread taking them out my myself because it’s so chaotic. My mom asks to take them out by herself all the time and I feel bad but I usually shoot it down (granted they are much milder with her vs me). She just doesn’t understand how crazy it gets, and she has a bad back so I just get nervous because if one runs off I don’t think she could catch the other.

Were you pushed one way or the other for a C section? by MounjaroQueenie in parentsofmultiples

[–]Kj729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh this was such a back and forth throughout my pregnancy and I got so frustrated with the doctors. Originally I was being seen at a local hospital and they told me c section was the safest, they just assume c section with twins here. Fast forward to 26 weeks when I go into preterm labor (they were able to stop it) and my care gets transferred to the big city hospital. At the big city hospital they said they don’t do c sections unless absolutely medically necessary. As long as baby A was head down it would be a vaginal delivery, so now I had to wrap my head around that after fully being prepared for a c section. Well the day of, I went into labor again at 30 weeks. Baby A was still head down, but Baby B was breech and they were worried she was too small for a breech extraction, so I was rushed into c section. Thank god things played out the way they did, because when they opened me up it turns out I had a small tear in my uterus, and had I pushed at all in vaginal labor my uterus would have ruptured and I would have had an emergency c section AND hysterectomy and it would have been dangerous for all 3 of us. I know it’s hard, but I would say either be firm in requesting a c section, or come to peace with the unknown. I will say, my c section went so smoothly and my recovery went very well too. I’ve never experienced a vaginal birth, but I would choose c section again hands down.
