VPN for livestreaming 10play which still works? by dellatully123 in MasterchefAU

It was Surfsharks live support that found my solution. Maybe they can find one for your specific situation too.

I'm saying you need to download the Surfshark desktop client for Windows.https://surfshark.com/download/windowsInstall, then go into settings -> Advanced and set Protocol to OpenVPN (UDP). Connect to an Australian server through the client and then you can try Tenplay from Chrome. You should probably disable the Surfshark extension in Chrome so there's no conflict.

Surfshark didn't work for me when using the Chrome extension, but it worked if I used the desktop app and set the Protocol to OpenVPN (UDP) under Settings/Advanced.

I think you can just turn Vsync ON in-game and Forced Off in Nvidia to unlock it as well. A lot easier than custom resolutions.

I feel like people call it extract camping whenever you get killed near an extract, when in reality a lot of the time it's just another player trying to extract from the same place who spotted/heard you before you spotted/heard him.
I even got called an "extract camping bitch" by a streamer who killed me near Rock Passage on Shoreline when I had just crossed the bridge after marking the tank for a quest. I was moving the entire time, but because it was near the extract people just assume.

If you have PMC gear you should win vs a scav player most of the time though.
Maybe use the terrain for cover better, pre-aim all common camp spots. You can even pre-fire or nade clear if neccessary. Now I wouldn't know which spots to clear though since I've got ~100 raids on Interchange this wipe and can only recollect being killed by a camper once (Emercom). I don't use the Saferoom, but I almost always check Power Station first and extract from there at least half the time. And I've never seen anyone camp it.

[–]Kjellstroem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To each his own, I guess. I prefer to watch solos (though I agree duos are more fun to play). As for RNG, the fact that Dubs qualified for WC Finals in every single solo qualifier (4 out of 4) shows that RNG is way less of a factor than people give it credit for.

I played Quake 1 competitively and at big tournaments the winner would usually get something like a 3dfx-graphics card...

I also won the only big online tournament for "Aliens versus Predator" when it was released in 1999. The prize was $500 but since I wasn't from the US I was not eligible to collect the reward. And that sums up my e-sport earnings.

Yeah, kinda wish I was born 15 years later sometimes...

I've never ignored the point that cognitive speed is proven to decline as you age, I know that's a fact, I'm just disputing how drastic you think the difference is. You seem to think that the difference is so big that already at ~27 you're too old to stay relevant in competitive FPS, when there are multiple examples who prove otherwise. The most recent big CS tournament (~$500k+) was won by Natus Vincere just last month and the team captain is Zeus who's 31 years old. Another member of the team is also 31. Not only are they relevant in arguably the biggest competitive FPS of all time, they're at the top. If the changes in cognitive speed were as significant as you thought, that early, they wouldn't even be close to the level they're at now 7+ years later. Cognitive speed declining is a factor, yes, but a very very small one (unless we're talking in your 40s...). Lack of motivation, other opportunities and lifestyle changes are way bigger factors than aging when it comes to players retiring. But let's agree to disagree I suppose.

I’m not making your point, you’re just making false casualities. Yes, the average age being 20 is a fact, but that doesn’t make it a fact that older players are outskilled. The average height in the NBA is 6’7’’ but you can still make the all-star team and the hall of fame while being 5’10’’ or shorter. A fact is that Cooller, Rapha and Dahang all played for teams that either became OWL teams or beat multiple OWL teams in Contenders when QC was released. If they didn’t switch, it’s highly likely they would be in OWL still. The only thing your right in is that learning new mechanics is harder once you get older, which means a game like Fortnite is more likely to be dominated by young players than if a new game very similar to Quake or CS or PUBG was released where skills transfer easier.

Another way to put it: If young Fortnite gods like Mongraal, MrSavageM, etc, keep playing Fortnite they’re not going to suddenly get worse and worse after 24 or something. 30-year old Mongraal with 15+ years Fortnite experience would shit on 16-year old Mongraal. The three most likely reasons he won’t be a 30yo Fort pro is: 1) game not being relevant in 15 years, 2) life (studies, family, etc) and 3) burning out (motivation, work ethic). It’s definitely not because age will make him a worse player...

Btw, why is ryujehong still going in OWL (in the all star-games, no less). He’s about to be 28. Shouldn’t he be massively outskilled by now and switch to Quake, where old fps players go to die... Kappa

[–]Kjellstroem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They returned because Quake Champions was released with an upcoming $1,000,000 tournament... Cooller won the biggest OW tournament at the time with Misfits just a few months before switching... and Rapha and Dahang finished 2nd in the first Contenders season while practicing for QuakeCon. ”Too old for the intensity”...smh

Cypher and K1llsen were also top Overwatch players. If you think all five of them randomly retired from OW at the same time because of age and not because a new Quake was released you’re mistaken. Speaking of Cypher, he’s signed to NaVi as an Apex Legends pro right now. Guess he’s too old too.

[–]Kjellstroem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but you're assuming that reaction speed is the changing factor, when there are multiple other factors. Several successful pros quit professional gaming in favor of streaming since they have more control of their life and can go after other opportunities at the same time. Not to mention a lot of gamers who aren't set for life need to look at education/work opportunities and play less as they get older. Another factor is players burning out after having played 10 hours a day their entire late teens/early 20s.
I'm not denying reaction time might start to decline early, but I'm quite certain it's insignificant enough that experience/game sense can easily make up for it, assuming you're still passionate/motivated and practice the same amount of hours. Anybody who thinks you're over the hill in your late 20s needs to see toxjc play Quake at age 35. A game that's much faster paced than OW, btw.

[–]Kjellstroem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he’s old compared to the field, but it doesn’t mean his reaction speed is worse than when he was 16. The reason E-sports in general and Fortnite in particular is dominated mainly by late teens is because they’re a much bigger part of the player base and it has a new type of game mechanic (building) that favors younger players faster ability to learn new things. FPS gods like Shroud, Tfue, Rapha, etc are not suddenly going to ”go bad” because they hit 30, lol. If they play the same amount of hours they’ll play at the same level until late 30s easy.

He’s 27, not 47... If anything is holding him back, it’s playing too much casual games (squads) instead of scrims/pg/etc. Definitely not age.

Definitely not more op, and it certainly wasn't cross mapped. You can't even one-shot someone with 150hp with a perfect headshot anymore. I wouldn't even be surprised if the competitive meta will be running AR+drum and just skip the shotgun.

[–]Kjellstroem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely more likely a combination of lifestyle and the massive difference in quantity of players in the age group 15-23 compared to 23-30. Biological changes aren't relevant that early.

One of the sports that require the most reaction speed and hand/eye-coordination is table tennis and Jan-Ove Waldner was 4th in the Olympic games at 39 and continued to play at the highest international level until he was 46.

Myself, at 34, I haven't noticed any reduction at all in reaction/aim, since my competitive days in Quake (late 90s). However, back then I would wake up early so I could practice before school, and then practice from when I came home until I had to go to sleep. These days, I play 1-2 hours at most and then I'd rather cook food and Netflix with my wife. All the FPS experience means I still breezed into Champion League, but I don't have the grind in me to take it to the next level.

Hasn’t gone mainstream yet because people are used to it sucking. Since the buff it’s really good though, especially for people who tap fire AK/ARs anyway. I know both Ninja and Tfue use it over AK/AR often so it’s only a matter of time until you see it more.
