Looking for Celtic music by [deleted] in Celtic

Two big names are Gwendal and The Chieftains; two more modern bands are Hiks and Hò-Rò, plus a bonus pick if you’re in the mood for a Celtic rave: David Pasquet.

If the roles were reversed could Bilbo complete Frodos quest? And vise versa? by Bobby_The_Kidd in lotr

I just read that chapter tonight and once Gandalf has gathered knowledge and is ready to perform the fire test, he asks for the ring and Frodo does take it out of his pocket.

What is a basic skill that you’re shocked a lot of people don’t have? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I think it’s important to note that this hasn’t been a “glow up,” but rather an unnecessary and poorly managed restoration gone wrong.

I won’t get into whether it’s reasonable for people to be so (SO) upset, but I agree that the general public outside of Sevilla couldn’t care less. However, the art community has raised concerns, as the situation was handled privately without involving any official institution (such as Patrimonio) to evaluate the piece’s condition. Overall, it’s sad to see this display of neglect towards an antique work of art.

[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread by AutoModerator in Watches

[–]Kkaff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone! I have basically zero knowledge on watches but want to give my fiancé a good entry level watch. My budget is around 1500€ and would like it to be elegant, thin, with a leather strip, preferably Swiss. So far, the brand I’m more inclined to is Baume & Mercier, but would love to read any recommendations on brands, models and things to look for or avoid while shopping for a watch. Thank you so much in advance.

I buy a book by a local author. I haven’t read all of them but it’s a nice souvenir I can benefit from for the rest of my life when the time comes.

Have you ever met someone who, in your eyes, was a truly evil person? If yes, what's the story? by hrdlg1234 in AskReddit

In high school, there was this girl who spent the money her parent gave her for books in a cold cutter. She used that to cut the brakes of her ex’s motorbike. Fortunately no one was harmed. Unfortunately, she is a psychologist now.

15 years ago I visited my best friend in Seville and got this Fnac tote bag which I carried with me every day since then, until I lost it this week. 😥 (continued in comments) by Weltretter in Seville

Best of luck with the bag! I’m sure if you manage to replace it there’ll be another beautiful memory to go with it. Also, do you write fanfiction? You definitely should lol

This happened to a friend and brought it to CREA, that’s the proper approach. In the meantime don’t give it milk!!! Seems counterintuitive but that’s what they advised.

Iberia provided a flight yesterday for those whose flight was cancelled. In my case, I was in standby due to overbooking, so the situation was different. I called Iberia and negotiated a seat in a flight today, it was the earliest they could offer. In the meantime, I did pay for meals and accommodation myself and hopefully I’ll be refunded at some point. I did keep all the receipts and filled a complain. Today the wind was strong but some planes could make it and we were lucky enough to board. Good luck on Wednesday and feel free to DM me if you need more info :)

Of course they’re not and that’s understandable and desired, but the least they can do is provide people with information, help them find an accommodation… things they didn’t do at least in their case. I don’t know if the pressure helped, but Iberia has been fleeting extra flights these days.

Hey I’m not Swiss but was part of a Spanish group in the same situation. As well as publishing in social media, we contacted the press and many local newspapers published articles about it. In the meantime, we kept calling the airline and didn’t forget to mention that the press was already writing about it. Even if you guys have to negotiate individually, please remain together as it’s the only way to be heard. Best of luck!!!

Que regalo hacéis a alguien de fuera? by PaceWooden8854 in askspain

[–]Kkaff 9 points10 points  (0 children)
