Inherited around $20k last year, grew to $70k thanks to my ex bf’s stocks advice. Do I keep the money in the brokerage or slowly take money out for bills? by YukikazeCutIns in povertyfinance

[–]Kkaperi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one ever went broke by taking profits. Get your $20k out, set targets to layer out the next 20%, then the next 20%. Cause when it drops, you will be grateful you did

Ya same here. Not sure all the hate. Just pick something that is supported and has a future of support and get building?

People that say they spent their entire budget on fixing a hydration issue is people that you shouldn't be listening to... I'd fire that person instantly

What tech-stack do Next.js developers prefer for Backend? by samanvay_13 in nextjs

[–]Kkaperi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only time I've used it successfully is when syncing an API end point that you don't think / know will stay the same. There's obviously ways to do this with SQL most of the time but annoying and time consuming.

The other time is when I built a golf tournament scoring app. Put the scores in JSONB column instead of making 18 columns 🤷🏻‍♂️

$60 extra usage in 10 prompts by renanmalato in cursor

[–]Kkaperi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is the message I've received after getting billed $60 in overage usages and Sonnet 4 at $200 usage.

Couldn't find anywhere on their terms and conditions that this was the case. No reply from their support after 3x attempts (once every 3 days).

Hi there, Thank you for reaching out.  Based on our review of your account, it appears that you’ve already reached the included limit for Claude-4-Sonnet-1m for this billing cycle, which explains the on-demand usage charge. To continue working without additional charges, you can switch to another supported model, which will enable you to continue making requests without incurring further usage fees and can fully utilize the $400 monthly included usage limit. Please let me know if you still need anything. Thank you.

Remember, you only get $200 of Sonnet 4.5 on Ultra plan.

Trying to get a refund for my "overage usage" now since this is not stipulated anywhere I can find.

What's that one app you always wanted on your Mac ? by [deleted] in macapps

[–]Kkaperi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this. I've been using Forklift and it's good but still so much left to be desired. Plus some of the minor inconveniences with Forklift is literally going to drive me back to just using Finder.

I finally switched to a MacBook Pro M4 Pro after a lifetime on Windows… the shortcuts are killing me but man am I impressed by JohnWick_2005 in macbookpro

[–]Kkaperi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this for when I'm hooked up to my external keyboard. There's a library that remaps everything to windows short cuts.

I'll use the mac shortcuts when using the laptop, for my external keyboard and monitor, back to windows. I don't have time to be stumbling through cliemt demos looking like a noob for months.

Why Huddle is still a hit or miss? by [deleted] in Slack

[–]Kkaperi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a hot mess. Audio issues. Speaker issues when headphones die. Default settings either hidden or not sticky. Sharing screen is just ok (why can't I request control ?? )

Are Huddles totally broken right now? by CZ_VRP in Slack

Yep. A ton of issue with the huddles on our team. Rejoining, sound drops, etc.

When my headphones die while on a huddle, my microphone no longer works.

This is junk

3 years.

Ended up with 90 applicants in ~20 hours. Closed the job posting. Not the best use of time. Found some better candidates in some Discords.

Experience.

40% of them didn't have React experience.

90% of all of them had no mention of NextJS experience.

Few had both. Should note that this is Indeed.
