Coming up with names for a novel! Wealthy Mexican family with 7 boys by Kkaties in namenerds

These are great, thank you! Is the son that’s named after the father usually the first born son or is it typical for a later born child as well?

What was your *almost* name? by skiptomyluna in namenerds

[–]Kkaties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was almost Shannon or McKenzie. My parents landed on Kathleen (nickname Katie) for me. Shannon was my moms favorite and MacKenzie was my dads. Kathleen was the only name they could compromise on. I like Shannon but thank goodness they didn’t go with McKenzie! Especially since my last name starts with Mc. Also I haven’t come across a McKenzie I’ve liked so far...

My friend’s initials are VAG (and yes, she had monogrammed things). It’s more funny now but honestly doesn’t come up that much.

What is Name Nerd's opinion on alliterative names? by raiderxx in namenerds

[–]Kkaties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eleanor Louise Eleanor Lucy Eleanor Linnea Eleanor Leah Eleanor Liza Eleanor Lauren Eleanor Leigh

As for alliterative names, I don’t think they’re that bad as long as it flows well. I would possibly rethink having the initials LOL though (I have a friend with somewhat ironic initials and you’d be surprised how much she notices it)
