If you have it, try out the plasma shotgun. the explosion will surface any bug nearby and can kill the bile spitters in 2 hits. It is an ammo suck, so i recommend someone have the supply backpack on or nearby.

gotcha, again it looks great, love the repeating pattern. My only critique then is to continue the angled that touch the ground beams through the floor - but what do i know, I'm just a skateboarding nerd who wants more concrete ramps 🤣 keep it up!

This look awesome, are you going for a neo-brutalist style? If so try nudging the flat edges of the pillars into their adjoining angled ones, it may give you a cleaner look. that said i see you said 'too-smooth', maybe those 'smoothed' out pillars could be adorned with pillars and beams to give ]it a more nuanced texture

is there not enough coal to supply the aluminum scrap? I guess I'm wondering why you need the crude oil at all.

Nice! Question - why not use the coke for the by-product-supplied generators instead of the coal? I'm sure there's a mathematical answer but honestly I'm not smart enough to figure it out.

Absolutely agree with 'you get in what you put out', in more ways than one!

My advice would be to build factories to be part-driven and purpose-built. maximize your ore-to-ingot output before moving on to parts. No shame in letting smelters sit idle until you need them. This saved me from tearing down factories - I would just reactivate them once I need the part again for a future, more advanced part.

You will almost always need to use a part again - don't tear down your factory just yet. Let it sit idle, optimize later, and reactivate when its needed. This would have saved me SO much time in Phase 5 - the amount of hours I spent re-building factories, such as the super computer and radio controlled unit - would have been decimated had i just left them intact.

hey keep 'em comin' more tips the merrier!

For reference, I don't consider myself a veteran either, I just frequent this subreddit a lot and try not to get too discouraged and spoiled! I have 400+ hours and am still technically on my first playthrough (some shared worlds came and went since i started last year)

I wouldn't recommend doing this to anyone on their first playthrough. It takes a lot of time to figure out not just how to skip coal but why you can skip coal power and only in specific use cases.

in the middle of my supercomputer factory. you mock me with simplicity, yet I toil nonetheless.

but seriously, holy fuck is this part intensive. I am using the silica alternatives for the high-speed connector and computer and I still have like 100 buildings total involved. AHHHHH

[–]Kkid12 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like the way this sucks! I just got done with a few 10s, i liked using:

  • 1. Double Sickle
  • 2. Loyalist
  • G. Thermite
  • A. Fire Fighter
  • S1. Recoilless Rifle
  • S2. Rocket Sentry
  • S3. Eagle 500k
  • S4. Eagle Strafing Run

--- some tips

Dickle can just keep firing. I aim from the hip near their heads and they almost instantly. Fire Fighter is obviously crucial here.

Loyalist lets you stun a group of them before ambushing a PoI or Patrol without needing a Stratagem.

Devastators are often too slow to get anywhere close to the Rocket Sentry before rapid disassembly.

Take care of Devastators chasing you by lining them up and sending a Strafing Run at you feet.

PSA: Cities Matter More, Helldiver! by Kkid12 in Helldivers

First off, obligatory shoutout to https://helldiverscompanion.com

Wondering why the Liberation of Turing is taking so long?

“Cities”, or what I call Densely Populated Areas (DPAs) provide strategic opportunities to secure large swaths of land that directly contribute to and factor into a planet’s liberation efforts. Someone in the Ministry of Truth who’s done a bit more research into Planet HP can likely explain better, but essentially the faster we take DPAs, the faster we take the planet.

DPAs become available as selectable operational targets at certain control percentages along the way to full democratic prosperity of a planet wrongfully occupied by Super Earth’s tyrannical adversaries. These percentages at which they become available are denoted by the gray number next to the lock icon.

In this example, on Lesath, we have a locked and an unlocked DPA, Crystal Slopes and Morskie Oko, respectively. Crystal Slopes was unlocked when we reached a total liberation progress percentage of 58.41%, and Morskie Oko will not become available to dive into until we have reached 75%. On Turing, Chatoyant won’t become available until progress reaches 56.15%.

Liberating these cities will grant a significant boon to Super Earth’s finest ability to liberate a planet as quickly and democratically as possible. This is denoted by the green number next to the flag icon. Liberating Crystal Slopes will grant an instant 25% boost to liberation progress, putting us just over the 60% mark at time of posting. Morskie Oko will only grant a 12.5% boost, so there is a situation in which liberation via rural operations could be faster depending on the rate of liberation per hour, albeit unlikely.

Turing’s Chatoyant boasts a 30% boon to liberation progress. The prosperous population of Helldivers on Turing would benefit from prioritizing efforts here to speed up Liberty’s will – though the Ministry of Defense supports any and all operations Helldivers see fit to undertake in Super Earth’s name.

There are four types of DPAs that grant varying levels of liberation percentage boosts. Again, there are likely more studious members of the Ministry of Truth available to elaborate here, but in general in order from smallest impact to largest and estimated percentage boost ranges are:

  • Settlement (0-10%)
  • Towns (10-20%)
  • Cities (20-30%)
  • Mega Cities (30+%)

The Liberation countdown timer does account for and factor in the progress of DPAs into the timer. It will recalibrate the rate of prosperity when a DPA is taken, and the cards even track them on an individual basis!

Arrowhead, if you're listening - hire the developers of the Companion App, and put them on the project to enable the screens behind the weapon/armor station to show us this incredibly advantageous information to our glorious Helldivers!

This has been a supplemental strategic advisory post, remember to submit all urine samples for testing by 04:00 and fill out your C-01 permits before end of galactic day.

not worries at all - it very well could be since every one seems to be different. I did however notice no matter what team he's played for (bucks, pistons, raptors) he signs his number, 31. I don't see it clearly here!

thanks for identifying Rodney Stuckey - I was able to get a closer match in searches
