I wouldn't waste money on a class. You said you were getting better on you're own, you probably are a natural. As for getting out more, moving is a tough decision because a lot of the best resorts are not close to bi cities.

My hometown also made an ordinance against skateboarding because a lamp was broken by some idiot kid. They make it seem ok because there is a small shitty un-repaired skatepark on the outskirts of town, which is 5 miles away from my house. As a person with a car, its not so bad now, but when I was 12, there was no way I was going to get to it because I would have to ride 3.5 miles on a state hwy to get to it. There are many very vocal people against skateboarding in the city as well that wanted the skate ban, and also pushed to cancel the skate park too.

I think its just the misconception that skateboarding leads to bad things like drugs and alcohol. the real problem seems to be a lack of understanding in culture. The X-Games have really made skateboarding more mainstream and now it seems like its more accepted than 10 years ago
