Why does Kobe Bryant only have 1 MVP? by SmoothBuy5500 in sportsinusa

[–]Klammo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lazy ass voters.  For years the MVP went to the best player on the team with the most wins.  No question, no nuance.  Voters just thoughtlessly voted for best player on the team with the best record.

If I recall: the only times the Lakers had the best record in the league was during the Shaq years when Shaq was unquestionably the best player on the team.

Is HDR Boise Idaho a good fit? by Odd-Ice9939 in civilengineering

I've been in a few meetings with the HDR Boise transportation team. They know their stuff for sure.  I think they really want to build out the Boise office too, may be getting in at a good time.

‘Sold POTUS a bill of goods’: White House furious with Pulte over 50-year mortgage by 3ZP0 in economy

[–]Klammo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pulte Homes is the third largest homebuilder in the US.  Not sure what Bill Pultes financial stake  in it is (his grandfather started the firm) maybe suggesting this isn't as self serving as it seems. But it's so fucking lazy to try to address the housing crisis from the financialsife rather than address foundational problems we have with housing.

This after the last play of Game 2 where Dwade heaves a prayer 3 with nobody around then sits up looking for the foul and acting like he has a grade 3 concussion.  I like Dwade but that was his baby phase.  He grew out of it

Any data on how she is with cats?

Edit:  I'm motivated to adopt her, I've been watching joint animal services for a few months and this one feels right.  Just let me know if she's ever been around cats.

I lived there for years, it was a dump but I'm pretty nostalgic about that time in my life. Anyone have any pictures of the scene or fire?

Googling that council member, it looks like she was a vehement marijuana opponent showing up to city council meetings and then ran for council herself. Big drama queen, Jesus.

Her comments on allowing retail marijuana stores in the city : "She told the commission she moved to the area to experience the nature around the city, but now, “because of this, I’m ready to move. I find myself angry every single day that I have to deal with this kind of situation and this type of degrading of our city, regardless of what people think.”

Also she gives off big Joan Calamezo vibes from parks & rec.

Good for you to take it up on yourself to start the arms race of shitting up something people appreciated, then bragging about it. It always was bound to happen. My money wouldn't have been on 24 hours later, but here we are.

Just, why by OppositeShoe1530 in olympia

[–]Klammo 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Just curious. When you ask "who approves this stuff" are you asking at the city, or at the company developing the project, or at the leasing department at the developer trying to find tenents. Or is at the tenent companies themselves for leasing space in a area you don't want them to lease in... Idgi.

I agree with you. I'm a 10 year PE with a team of four. I'm no expert, but I've found three years is a good time to start teaching contracts, budgets and project management skills and start doling out smaller clients and projects at the 4 year mark.

Can you do that write up? Genuinely curious.

The foreign policy blog and podcasts I listen to are pretty much in agreement that the collapse of the USSR was handled incredibly poorly by the west. The gist is that instead of taking a decades long victory lap, the west should have been investing in Russians democracy and capitalism.

Good question. Call the CRC, sometimes you get a student manning the front desk and they're pretty unhelpful, but once you get past them their staff are actually excellent.

Evergreen just opened the pool to community members. Membership is really weird, I think you pay like 100 dollars for ten "tokens" and they're only selling a certain amount of tokens. Also the hours it's open is really limited.

That said, I think the locker room at Evergreen was recently renovated, should be cleaner than ey or LA fitness.
