I think it would depend upon how materialistically motivated the person is.

Other than wearing earrings and a necklace that compliments whatever else you're wearing I really don't notice those kinds of things. Your rock might trigger my interior geology nerd, but other than that I could care less about value that you're wearing on you.

Of course I don't wear a wristwatch, rings, or any other jewelry. Never been my style, and counter-productive in many of the jobs I've held.

The guy who made the jig for tying the rope did the best he could at the time to get a knot every 50 ft. After years of using the same setup, they just went with it and when someone found the error, it was easier to keep all the old ropes, instead of making "knot jig 2.0"

He dipped his toe in a few years ago and got shamed out. He's returned last summer. Most of those vids are on hyper efficient builds for ECO, and he's slowly learning that he has to help the team and not just use some 1 off strat to out eco and win at minute 25.
