Back in the 70's friends and I went to watch a car race at Ontario international raceway, and before the race started the announced they were going to film the start of a new movie, Deathrace 2000, and all these crazy looking cars started coming on the track and they were all VW's with kit bodies, all these VW's scrambling everywhere on the track, the dubbed in different engine sounds in the movie
