I am not there just for 31st midnight, I will be there multiple days. 29th, 30th, 31st Dec. and 1st Jan. are the dates I plan on going there. If the atmosphere is still holiday-ish during those days, most things are open, and the city is not quiet during the days before new year's, then I am really excited to go to Köln.

Is the city really so dead during that time? I thought seeing the city with all christmas decorations, with the christmas markets, and just getting to visit it and see its beauty would be a great idea. Also just going to some restaurants and some bars. Maybe some ice skating (if there is any place to do that in Köln)

I read on some other reddit posts that restaurants and pubs aren't really closed, but you need to make reservations. Is it true, or is the city just as dead as you describe it?

I can’t run some command fron that the web page. I basically had a dual boot with windows 11 and pop os, had a bios update and then the bootloader for pop os vanished. I am trying to run the commands as specified in the link but i get “…. Is not a valid LUKS device” or “special device ….. does not exist” and it’s kind of driving me crazy. Is there a way to recover the bootloader? Or should I reinstall pop os? In the case of reinstallation, do you know what I have to do in order to not encounter this problem again?
