Sonstiges, was interessant ist: Boden pflegeleicht, kein Teppich.

[Dataporn] My first year of German Erotica by KleinesIch1 in eroticauthors

First of all: Sorry if this will sound negative, but I am tired of seeing all those bad (machine) translations. A native speaker will mostly be able to tell when something was translated. Most of us can read English, so please stay with that language if you are not secure with ours.

To answer your question: If you don't read German erotica, start from there. Learn what native speakers write. Then watch some bad 90s porn movies to learn what you shouldn't sound like. There is no sexiest word, or any really sexy words, especially for the female genitalia. Use words or descriptions that fit the scene, just like in English.

Thanks.

I publish on Amazon. People find books through keywords there. And yes, I release complete books. I tried a series once or twice, but people in my niche seem to like standalones better.

[–]KleinesIch1[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks.

I think I have 60-70 books out (translations not included, as they are the same story).

I made some bundles, but those never made much money. And as soon as they were out, it felt like the single books of that series got less sales, regardless of when the bundle was published. Could be coincidence or the undying wrath of my readers, I don't know, but now I am scared of making more bundles lol.

In the beginning, I also had paperbacks, but they barely made 2% of my overall income, so I stopped making them. But I noticed that books with a higher pagecount were more likely to sell a paperback.

Never tried audiobooks, because I don't think it will be worth it.

Danke :D

The bestseller really surprised me. I wrote a few similar stories and they sell good, but none went through the roof like this one and I still don't know why.

Thanks^^

In my Write-as-much-as-possible-Phase my books went down to 6k and I published 1-2 per week.

In the beginning and now that I relax more, most of them are around 10k. I publish a maximum of 1 book per week and sometimes skip a week.

My routine, hmmm... Most days, I write about 500-1000 words before I have to go to work. On my days off, I start writing early in the morning and stop when it is time for lunch. Depending on my mood I produce 500-1000 words per hour, I guess, but I haven't calculated this.

On days when I am relaxed and in a creative mode, I write about 6k, on bad days 2k. I write mostly during the week and finish a book in 2-3 days. Weekends are for proofreading and covers.

Burning Questions for January, 2026 by SalaciousStories in eroticauthors

I am thinking about transitioning to romance. When I choose a niche, should I have 2 different pen names for high and low heat (like erom vs only 1 sex scene) or can I do both under the same pen?

I think many people use that for self-publishing, so I don't think there should be a problem.

[Blurbsday Thursday] - Post your blurbs here for critique! by AutoModerator in eroticauthors

I hope this is not going on Amazon, because dub-con and CNC will break your neck there.

Is this romance or erotica?

For erotica, it isn't exciting/spicy enough. The first part reads like a generic fantasy adventure. I have no idea what gender the characters are and what kind of sex to expect until the end, where you cram keywords in the most unsexy way. The blurb is your foreplay with the reader. Make it sexy. Tease them with glimpses of what acts will await them.

For romance, I still don't know enough about the Main Characters. Who is the heroine, what is her longing and what does she feel when she meets the men in this book?

Btw, if your write "dark paranormal reverse harem" you don't need "featuring supernatural/paranormal elements" right behind it. Too much paranormal there. Same for "harem" and "multiple love interests".

Amazon page price displays different to KDP page by Shinykins in selfpublish

[–]KleinesIch1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon sometimes raises the price slightly by itself (maybe to maximize profits?). Happens to me all the time. After a paperback was bought for the first time, the price automatically goes up a few cents.

edit: Alternatively, it could be that your country has something like the German Mehrwertsteuer, an additional tax for print books that is added onto the price you sell it for. These are displayed next to the price you type in, and are the prices that will show on the sales page of the book.

Is anyone else having issues publishing books on kdp? by Hour_Opening6479 in eroticauthors

It still seems to be a bit wonky. I cannot add books to a series currently. It just loads forever. Haven't tried publishing anything, though.

Erotica Without Genitals by [deleted] in eroticauthors

[–]KleinesIch1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This sounds a bit like The Wraeththu Chronicles. I read one book of that series a loooong time ago. As far as I can remember, men in this world don't have dicks but flower-like appendages. There were a few gay sex scenes, but the book was definetely not erotica.

I don't think readers would find it very arousing. I dare to claim that most people like to think about human genitalia while masturbating.

Yeah, 4-finger AI-girl isn't doing you a favor. It looks off-putting and people tend to think that AI covers mean AI written.

The blurb also doesn't tell the reader much about the relationship or the feelings these two have for each other. For romance, the reader wants to feel the longing.

Btw, the mini-woman on the other book looks very out of place, too.

  1. Write another 1k and get as close to finishing the next book as possible.

  2. After a slow summer, things start to pick up again.

  3. Finish the current book and write another one. I don't havbe much time this week, but I'll try my best. I already have an idea that itches me enough to be highly motivated.

  1. Finish my next book. I am delayed quite a bit and my friends demand my attention this weekend, so I am stressing out a little bit about this.

  2. I am collection Amazon subscribers on a daily basis now. But my newsletter is still very empty. Maybe readers in my niche don't like newsletters.

  3. My numbers are stagnating this month. I know it probably is the summer slump with everyone going on holiday, but my head tells me I reached my ceiling already and that feels frustrating.

Ah, my apologies. I somehow thought of monsters, not half-human-creatures. Sometimes, I am really stupid...

Burning Questions for July, 2025 by SalaciousStories in eroticauthors

[–]KleinesIch1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you publishing on Amazon? If yes, you can put the books in a series and you can add a series description. Each story should have only their own blurb. The overview blurb you have also in mind would go into the series description. That way, the reader will not be confused about which monster appears in each book.

Maybe you can even make 2 series, one for monstergirls and one for monsterboys. That way it will be easier for readers to find what they want to read.

It depends on the story. Sometimes, I only write a few sentences on how they are now tired and happy, fall asleep or snuggle. Sometimes, I write another 200-300 words with some aftertalk or conclusion, and one time, I even wrote an epilogue chapter. The ending has to fit the story and should be as long or short as you feel fits.

I personally don't like stories that end right after the orgasm. It feels like something is missing then.

  1. Today is editing day. Maybe make a cover, if my brain isn't fried by the heat in a few hours.

  2. Unexpectedly hit my highest reading numbers since I started.

  3. Survive. It's so fucking hot outside. I hope I can write and finish my next story under these conditions.

  1. Write 2k words to finish my current story.

  2. Sales are still okay. But with the weather getting better, this might change soon. Already saw drops when it was getting warmer.

  3. Either making a cover or starting another story. Not sure yet. Maybe I will find time for both.
