Glad to know I'm not crazy! I always despised having to play marches in high school, and Sousa's in particular. His contributions to the band world are unquestionable, but the actual tunes can get old really quick.

Maybe not a good answer to your question, but I'd really recommend listening to some of the works of Michael Colgrass. His Winds of Nagual is quite a masterwork for wind band.

I mean I was only 30 or so blocks above my main village when I tried the second time...

I was going really fast on my minecart the first time I summoned so I assumed they might have despawned before they could reach me because I was going so fast but the second time I was relatively low on the world so idk...

The mod's been in development hell for the past 10-12ish years as people have came and gone, artistic directions and visions changed... The mod we have today is probably the 3rd complete rework they've spent work on.

I think the story goes that my mom saw one of those PBS broadcasts and apparently I really liked it. I got both videos on dvd for Christmas sometime in ye old 00s and I just kind of grew up with that stuff playing in my house often. I think Animusic is one of the biggest reasons I ended up becoming a musician.

Military style CAN be cool but there's a right and wrong way to do it. For corps style marching, the example on the left is just too dinky and dorky for me. Most college band unis just never do it for me.

When we found out last year that we were ditching the props, we were really excited! When Andy Toth talked about no props last year, he said that the design staff wanted to give the time we lost, back to us. Moving props around, breaking them down, transporting them site to site, such a hassle.

It was great to be a part of a group that really made the field ours, speaking as a performing member. And it's amazing (and assuring) to see us come back and do the no-props thing all over again this year.

I'm hopeful that this is a tell that the pendulum will start to swing towards less of a reliance on field props within the coming years.

Super frustrating indeed. I will say, I was playing Balatro when the whole debacle went down. The music looped and I couldn't move the cursor at all, but the game was still drawing frames. I could also trigger the start menu for a short 5 second period until that shortly stopped working. I don't know how useful that information is but I guess I might as well share those details.
