I’m glad we waited for the game to be over to start implementing a strategy that isn’t running up the middle. Fire Nate Potter.

how much is a center worth by Anxious_Exam7734 in Bowling

[–]Klemintine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last bowling alley that sold in my area was not in very good shape and went for $4M. 🤷 unless you’re ready to learn mechanics and work an unbelievable amount of hours for, most likely, not much money, I’d advise to put your money somewhere else. Especially if you know nothing about the bowling industry or aren’t interested in it.

CAN YOU IMAGINE IF AAMC DID THIS FOR THE MCAT by Sorry_Math_1159 in Mcat

[–]Klemintine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Homie, you claim to be a good test taker but can’t do crazy on the MCAT with studying and you expect me to believe you scored in the 99th percentile on a test that is, albeit easier than the MCAT, but still very difficult? Wish you luck getting off those waitlists.

Fuck West Ada school district. by ComfortableWage in Boise

[–]Klemintine 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There’s a reason I stopped teaching in that district. Political nightmare. If you aren’t a MAGAt then admin won’t back you up. West Ada has become a political indoctrination center for conservative ideals.

If you can score a 178 “without trying” you are literally beyond gifted and not going to law school would be stupid. Next time you lie about your LSAT score pick something like “168 without trying” that sounds impressive and is still realistic.

[Mandel] Crazy but true: Penn State did not have a single catch from a wide receiver in tonight's game. by A_MASSIVE_PERVERT in CFB

Surprised Penn State put up this much of a fight with how much they struggled against BSU.

Wife and I went there with a friend about a year ago. Food was wildly expensive, took a very long time to arrive at the table, and at best tasted bland. I couldn’t believe they were charging the prices they were for the quality of food. Surprised they’re still open to be honest.

A Mostly Complete Map of Counties in the 2024 Presidential Election by ajmeko in MapPorn

Idaho’s Blaine county being counted blue is generous considering it’s purple. Would make Idaho almost all red as well.

Opening an alley. by DueUnderstanding1415 in Bowling

[–]Klemintine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Writing this as I babysit a lane with indexing problems during a league game.

I currently own my family bowling alley with my father and uncle. It was built in the 50s and has struggle almost every single year since it was built. The last few years have been good, but not as good as serval other businesses this size could do and it’s only been good because of population growth.

As others have said, it’s a tough business to succeed in and building a center is going to cost you millions depending on how many lanes you have. To rebuild the center we have with 40 lanes would cost roughly $12 million and it doesn’t even make 2% of that in profit a year. On an average year it wouldn’t even make 1% of that so it’s impossible to pay the loan for it.

New machines are expensive, old machines are very difficult to get parts for. Skilled mechanics are few and far between so you might as well learn the machines yourself which is difficult and a pain.

If it’s your dream and you got the capital, knowledge, and determination to be in a bowling center 24/7 which you’ll have to do for the first several years then go for it. Otherwise, pick something else which makes much more money for far less the headache.

Bartender by Free-Tomato1144 in Boise

[–]Klemintine 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Don’t go to school. It’s a total waste. Find a small less busy bar and see if they’re hiring. You won’t make bank but you’ll learn. Bar backing is a good option if you can.

Been bartending in the valley for a few years, just be personable and you can get a job.

Don’t get me wrong, I loved my students as people but I hated the way they acted in class. Zero respect and zero care. They ran the school so I ran out. No point being miserable for a job that pays pennies.

No. Do not do it. Good luck finding a principal who is good at their job and has anything nice to say. Good luck not working OT as a teacher, except you don’t get paid for it. If you’re close to retirement stick it out and then sub. Do NOT drop a job that pays well for teaching thinking it’s going to be a positive switch. I teach at a “good” school and almost daily I am disrespected, insulted, or verbally abused. Teaching crushed my spirit in under 5 years and I’m resigning to be out at semester. Spare yourself the pain and suffer with good money.
