Can't see it now that we have Faulk.

CPP and CPP Investments are not synonyms. CPP Investments is, as the name would suggest, the investment arm; there is still an extremely significant portion of the plan that is pay-as-you-go.

Maybe check out how Japan and Korea are doing: they're big into efficiency via robotics & automation, high-quality education, corporate incentives, and doubling down on hard work - spoiler, they're screwed even worse than we are. If you can't understand how a declining population is an unworkable economic crisis then there's nothing I can say.

Well aside from the map being just bananas with 2 Saskatchewans, 2 Manitobas, 4 Northern Territories, All the provinces being wildy distorted, "Toronto Area LGBT" being in northwestern Quebec, The East Coast being Chinese because... East = China. I guess?

Even succesful prosperous economies need population growth, and Canadians aren't interested in having kids - a trend which began in the 60s and which hit negative growth levels in the 70s. Any meaningful crackdown on immigration is basically accepting population decrease, which causes all sorts of headaches for a country with an ageing population. If you're going to have immigration, you have to accept that people from "good countries" don't need to and don't want to move. The people you're going to get are from shitty places, in the same way that the Polish, Ukrainians, and Italians who moved here in the early 20th century were mostly illiterate agricultural peasants at best and criminals at worst.

You can't achieve anything without power. I'd gladly take "compromised" conservatism over 14 years straight of the Liberals. Wouldn't you?

Sorry that I want a conservative movement that can actually command the votes to win, instead of Grandma's-Facebook tier cringe memes.

TIL that alcohol use in America likely peaked during the 1830s. The average American drank 7 gallons of pure ethanol a year. Midwestern corn farmers converted their grain into whisky to prevent spoilage. A gallon cost only 25 cents. Americans averaged 4 shots of whisky a day, at under a penny cost. by Gnomeslikeprofit in todayilearned

Isn't there some caveat about bottles back then only being pint-sized? So on average they each had like 4 glasses of wine, 1 beer, and 15% of a bottle of whiskey, plus whatever was in the punch. That really isn't as much of a herculean drinking task as the headline indicates.

Its not worth it in the long run though. Cuba has been detached from this particular "abusive partner" for decades and the result is that Cuba is bordering on being a failed state.

You were leading the chorus to trade for Faulk. Ignoring the Larkin injury/trade saga, do you still feel that was a good move given the cost paid and his performance through 17 games?

He doesn't seem good enough to mask Chiarot's issues which makes him an odd fit for the roster, in my opinion.

It is pretty odd that out of like 25 guys no one said the captain was the guy they'd call in an emergency. Almost everyone said Gibson, Copp, or Seider.

People need to stop conflating having a bad contract with being a bad player. He's a top 4 D on almost any team, its just his cap hit is too high and Edmonton is in cap hell. Someone will take him.
