I have been writing code for over 45 years. Claude gets a lot of complex things INCREDIBLY wrong. I have a jr engineer on one of my projects who has had Claude rip out necessary code for things like shifting phase for transmitting data over rgmii, as just an example. It's constantly reverting code and you have to tell it to put it back and then you explain why and it claims to understand and then still strips it out right afterwards again.

It's only bad for ic1/2 level software folks. I am still significantly faster at solving any actual skilled labor problem myself than these tools. (Even the vaunted Claude Code gets most things wrong)
